Fine Beans yesterday in Stalham. Old SEL said 89p (no indication it was an old SEL). Charged £1.29.
Cust service said happily that, because i've been overcharged, I'll get double the difference and gave me 40p. So when I said, no that should be 80p, she looked troubled (considering she'd used a calculator and all). I had to repeat, "the difference is 40p, so I should get 80p back", well you could see the smile drain from her face as she fished around in the till for another two 20 pences - she didn't say another word.
Why is the customer so rarely right in situations like this? I don't know if she was being serious and made a stupid error or thought I was stupid and couldn't add up. Bloody people.0 -
Saw the banner at entrance to Tesco yesterday for Beer/Lager 2 for £16.00, went to buy my OH Guinness, but not on the offer. Just saw the Tesco advert on TV and quite clearly shows Guinness. Can I demand it at local store?
To important thing to do is inform the ASA about the advert. It is a really simple straightforward process that only takes a couple of minutes.
There is a simple online form at http://www.asa.org.uk/asa/how_to_complain/complaints_form/ so just fill that in and submit it.
I would urge anyone that is concerned about Tescos misleading advertising to make the complaint. The ASAs response is partly determined by the number of complaints received so it is important for as many people to complain as possible.
So if you've seen the advert and the offer is not available is your store make sure you fill in the form online.0 -

Ive thanked you for this, but feel a bit embarassed by your comments as Ive always felt lacking in this department...even through the "heady days" of RnR, I poached from other peoples "finds" and was maybe too busy poaching to look for my own...... this one stood out a mile, but I was on another more lucrative mission at the time, involving CS, so passed it on to a friend(who is also a much better DtDer than me.......)Couponing....."every little hurts"
