I purchased Harry potter with the offer of spend £30 get it for £8, the lady on the till asked me what the offer was (and if there even was one ???) and said it didnt give a discount so i would need to go to CS,
Got a woman who HATES refunds (for anything) and seems to take it as a massive personal slight when you get one, she refunded me £6 and as my youngest was having a wriggle fit, I made a quick escape. It wasnt till I sat having a coffee i thought about the offer and returned to ask why I didnt get DTD. The answer was as "it wasnt an overcharge as i should have received a discount" !!!!!! !! this got my back up and i said, very slowly, "you charged me too much money, therefore I have been overcharged"!
They thought they could gang up on me at this point and said the woman on the till should have pressed a button to activate the discount but didnt, so it wasnt their fault. I replied "does she not work for tescos then ??"
To cut a long rant short they rang the manager and through gritted teeth gave me another £6, so tesco paid me £4 to take Harry Potter away !!
Bonus, just a shame i was made to feel like a criminal

im afraid when you shop in tesco this is very often what you get, i just wish sir terry would read this site, if only he knew what his staff get up to,trying to fob people off, im so glad you stuck up for yourself :T some people would just back down so as not to cause a fuss, more people need to do this and more people need to contact the main customer sevices at head office to complain when they given such a shoddy service by customer service staff who are supposed to be there to help customers, thats a laugh  i worked in human resourses a few year ago before i had my daughter, and to be honest the majority of staff in tesco i just wouldnt have employed, just were do they get them from????anyway rant over ive had a glass of wine and probably said too muchdont wait for your boat to come in, get in a dingy and row out to it!!!0 -
i got an absolute HEAP of really really cheap shopping tonight in tesco. it seems that whoever they put on price reducing duties made a royal screw up. they're usually suppose to take 10% off of reductions.
EVERYTHING i bought was marked down by 90%! for example, i got monkfish fillets marked down from £9.67 to 97p ! also, pies from £3 to 30p. all the items have a few days left on them and most of them are right for freezing.
proper chuffed with thathelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
(Frozen) Tesco Southern Fried chicken (drumsticks and thighs) in a box - marked up as £3, scans at £3.72.
Not much of a refund (£1.44), but every little helps!!0 -
Rocky chocolate bars SEL 49p (half price) charged 99p per pack (i got 2).
Went to customer services who i complained i'd been overcharged, and she argued the wrong SEL label was displayed, so I argued back and said that it was Tesco's fault for displaying the wrong sign. She relented and said she had this problem the other day (so why hasnt it been rectified then, i wondered?? ) and she refunded me one pack begrudgely, and placed 99p in my hand. Ahem - i said - Tesco's policy is Double The Difference, give me double back, she went bright red, and then started the argument again that the wrong SEL is displayed - I said `well its still there`, and she was rather reluctant to place another 99p in my hand, but she really really didnt want to!! :TFiona_Babe

Once when I was charged the wrong price, I went to CS and u know wot they did, they took away the SEL and said it wasnt there..
So from now on I always follow them to the shelf>>>>0 -

i bet you were fuming  i know i would have been, its bad enough when they try to cheat you out of a refund which you are entitled to under the terms of their policy, it is even worse when they imply that you are lying. when it was the r&r policy my sister bought a dvd which was in one of the plastic security boxes, the price was on a big yellow sticker on the dvd itself,it scanned at the wrong price to the sticker so off she toddles to the cs desk, someone from entertainment was called, he took the dvd to check it against the shelf price, when he came back it looked as if the sticker had been removed, and he tried to imply that it was my sister that had tampered with it  well my sis isnt one to let things go, she said how could she have when it was in a security box, she asked for the manager to be called and wanted them to check the security footage, the bloke soon backed down, but it justs goes to show how low they will stoop, dont let them get away with it !!dont wait for your boat to come in, get in a dingy and row out to it!!!0 -
Fresh shoulders of lamb... Special offer,50% off... reduced to £1.6X a kg. Spotted some at a higher price mixed in with the offer.... nice £17.62 refund after a bit of a tussle with CS. She insisted that the ones I got weren't in the offer...showing me the 'correct' sel.... till I pointed out to her that the one she was showing me was for HALF shoulders. She was not amused! lol0
