how? no one in the country has been able to order them from amazon.de since tuesday
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)
  • I purchased Harry potter with the offer of spend £30 get it for £8, the lady on the till asked me what the offer was (and if there even was one ???) and said it didnt give a discount so i would need to go to CS,

Got a woman who HATES refunds (for anything) and seems to take it as a massive personal slight when you get one, she refunded me £6 and as my youngest was having a wriggle fit, I made a quick escape. It wasnt till I sat having a coffee i thought about the offer and returned to ask why I didnt get DTD. The answer was as "it wasnt an overcharge as i should have received a discount" !!!!!! !! this got my back up and i said, very slowly, "you charged me too much money, therefore I have been overcharged"!

They thought they could gang up on me at this point and said the woman on the till should have pressed a button to activate the discount but didnt, so it wasnt their fault. I replied "does she not work for tescos then ??"

To cut a long rant short they rang the manager and through gritted teeth gave me another £6, so tesco paid me £4 to take Harry Potter away !!

Bonus, just a shame i was made to feel like a criminal ;)

PS thanks to all who contibute on this thread, I wonder how many people are mis-led by their 'policy'
Hi i wrote about a few days ago when I was charged for croissants that I had never purchased or any other bakery product that could have been mistaken for them. The cs gave me the !.20 back and I said isn't it double the difference. She said I wasn't overcharged for something it was the right price on the croissants so it didn't count!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never bought the damn things in the first place and I had to wait over 15 minutes until the supervisor came to the counter (Suspect it was her tea break) yes it happens all the time and they do make you feel like a criminal. • Sorry not a misprice as such but...

Tesco recently had the tubs on mini cheddars on BOGOF so you got two tubs for £2.09. So I stocked up on half a dozen tubs. Then this week at Somerfield they had them at usual everyday price of £1.04 each! What a con!

So many examples at Tesco as well of larger items being more expensive per kg than the smaller item, e.g. own-brand dishwasher powder is 99p for 1 kg and 3.99 per 3kg. Large food bags 25p but identical size/type freezer bags (that you'd typically pick up instead if not looking at bag sizes etc) are 50p.

Check everything carefully and expect Tesco to try and rip you off and you won't go far wrong!

Thats like the the toothbrushes on the last lot of bogofs. Tesco claimed they were £3.99 bogof. But an individual toothbrush was £2.69! Very creative pricing!

    Tesco are doing this with 1kg sugar - 77p, but 2kg - £1.63.
Many parallels - shampoo, deli counter vs identical packs, f&v, honey, especially cheese of late, etc.etc.
If shoppers were not taught mental arithmetic, they cannot relate price/weight/volume i.e. per 100gms/100mls. Many people do not even read where Mr T. DOES show this - they do not understand what it conveys.

    SEL = Shelf Edge Label

dtd = Double the Difference, Tescos latest ploy to reduce the No of complaints to Trading Standards about their illegal pricing habits. Basically if they overcharge you, and you notice, you should get double the value of the overcharge back.
