Yes you should always get double the difference , there is a big sign behind the customer services desk . Always point it out to them if they don't give you DTD.Never pay more than you have too0 -

You should find it on an A5 display on every till, at the Electrical desk, photo desk, basically every point of sale. Some stores have been, shall we say, slow, to put these up after refits.
If you can't see one, then tell them that your mum/brother/sister got overcharged on some cheese (or other random small item) at a Tesco's down the road and got DtD.
They may still deny all knowledge of said policy. Usually asking for the duty manager sorts out the memory loss without actually having to call the manager, or ask for Head Office CS number.

Thanks. Having briefly read through a couple of pages, I never new that this DTD existed until now. I now reflect back to a couple of months ago when I was in Tesco. I bought a toy as a birthday for my son's friend as my son was invited to a birthday party. The toy had a SEL £6.99. I thought it was ok for that price as a present. When I checked the receipt it said £9.99. So I went to the Customer service desk and that I did not wanted it because I didn't realiased it was that expensive. So they just gave me back the £9.99 that I was charged for.
If only I have know about this DTD, I would have mentioned to Customer service. Then, I would have made £6.00 for the misprice.
By the way just a quick question. In the future, if I was overcharged, and I was refunded double the difference, do I still have to go ahead and buy the item or do they just double refund the difference and then not buy the product?.0 -
I was charged the full price for the pizza just yesterday and so I asked them to check the price and they came back and said the mushroom and bacon ones are not on sale so I told them to keep the pizzas and refund me $2.48. I was also charged 1.36 for 3 croissants and went from the tills to the customer service and said I don't have any croissants at all. They argued that I must have had something similar and I had a small shop told them to look. Customer service begrudgingly gave me 1.36 back and I held my hand out and said don't I get twice the difference and she said yes but that is for mistakes on things that you have BOUGHT YOU DIDN'T BUY THESE. Duhhhhhhhh don't mess with me so I stand in line for 10 minutes and it is your mistake and no supervisor to see to me for another 10 minutes and I don't get twice the difference!!!!!!!!! Who do you think won? I wouldnt have known about that either if it wasn't for this site. thank you all taffy0
