I have bought 3 school trousers. There was a card on one of the aisles that said 3 for 2 for all school clothes. After I paid, I noticed that the lowest price item had not been deducted. I went to CS and they advised that double the difference does not apply in this situation. They offerred to refund me the lowest price item only. I said I'll get back to them after I've double checked my position. I have just rang the HO CS and they are saying the same thing - this transaction does not class as an overcharge. They are saying that a duty manager will be ringing me soon!
Are they right that double the difference does not apply in this case? Pls advice me so I know what to saying when the duty manager rings! Thanks0 -
Have you contacted your local trading standards for their opinion? just a thoughtQuotes in context only please.0

In my opinion, this is an overcharge, you expected the lowest price item to be deducted and it wasn't - u were overcharged by x pounds. The sign by the customer service does say "if things don't add up, we'll give u double the diff". Tesco seem to have a few exclusions to their DTD policy - sure a few posts back it mentioned stickered DVDs and SEL not been given DTD.

I have just had the phone call from the duty manager - he insisted that this mistake on "3 for 2" does not apply in this situation because the offer no longer applies - it has expired. I explained that it is a mistake because I have been charged more than expected!
He has said that he will honour the 3 for 2 in this instance - that's it.
I've done my sums and with double the differnce I would get £8 back and with the lowest price trouser back, I get £4 back!
For extra £4 refund - I'm beginning to think whether it is worth the fight when everybody in Tesco (from HO to the store itself) are saying that DTD does not apply.
Why have a double the difference promise when they say it doesn't apply- crazy people!0 -
Dr Pepper zero and Sprite zero 2L bottles are going through at £1.45 bur dr Pepper and Sprite are on offer at 72p normal ones going through at special offer price it seems so a penny to take the diet versions home.
I don't understand your post, I would love some Dr Pepper zero for a penny. How does it work - are you overcharged then getting DTD?0 -

Tesco brand mint sauce is retailing at £0.03 online at present. Don't know if this is correct or not but I've bought a dozen to use the jars for homemade jam and marmalade. It's cheaper than buying the empty ones let me tell you!0
