Nice to have the views of some Tesco employees.

All five posters never appear to get caught up in the playground antics. :T
Keep up the good work :)

I would totally agree with leadhead don't feed the troll already he/she is getting bored with the site given a few days and he/she will hopefully leave, by responding to the trolls you give them what they desire so much ATTENTION!

With regards to the other forum good luck, of course many posters from MSE will be joining you lets be honest here survival of the fitest, every man/woman for themselves, everybody likes to have a finger in as many honey pots as they can ;)

Maybe i used to many smilies sorry.

And that's about all that's left now. Five posters (and I'm not sure about all of them) who continue to provide constructive input to the thread whilst the rest use it as a playground for childish name-calling and abuse.
    Remember:
The Internet is a much bigger place than MSE
MSE is a much bigger place than this thread
This thread is much bigger than one or two people
Newbies are scared off with rude answers to their basic questions and respected MSErs who occasionally happen by to present a point of view are often labelled trolls by a select few who believe the thread belongs to them.
It doesn't; it belongs to Martin Lewis who must be tiring at the amount of garbage being spouted in his name.
    Can I help?
  • Thanks Zara33, As I obviously have nothing constructive or helpful to add to this forum then I see no reason for me to stay!!!

This forum is much bigger than the 5 people you mentioned above. Even though we dont particularly appreciate some of the things Tescoemployee says he/she still has some valuable points to add. That along with alot of other posters on here.

There are 4 other names just from the very top of my head. Just because they use "other" forum does not mean they are frowned upon on here. Good luck to them.
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

I think I'm going to start saying I'm a gypsie with no permanent address.

I like it, I might use it next time.

  • I've been reading this thread, trying to get into it and tbh i just don't have a clue what's going on. But from reading I agree with 306 there's a whole load of constructive posters, if only the discussion would actually loosely stay around the topic of misprice!
My DH is a Trading Standards Officer, and so the legality of Tesco's and their constant law breaking is regularly discussed. The problem is the fact that the misprices vary from store to store, and TS only ever get one or two complaints at a time, and if TS are to ever take Tesco to court, you can bet your R&R Tesco won't scrimp on good defence!

Now thats the sort of post I've been waiting a long time to see!:D

Is there any chance your DH would post some basics about the sort of evidence that TS would need to make a good complaint?

There's plenty of misprices and plenty of unhappy customers. If we followed the right procedure I'm sure we could help TS do their job with better evidence.

We just need some accurate info!
  • My translation of his opinion (and it will vary from one TSO to the next) is that for Trading Standards to do anything they'd have to have loads of complaints about several items over a decent period of time. So it would involve a large number of people emailing their local trading standards with misprices on a regular basis to first alert them to the regularity of this, and make it clear there's a case to answer. As someone pointed out earlier in the thread, trading standards normally only receive a couple of complaints, that is then marked against the store. If every trading standards received hundreds of complaints it would give a bit more punch!
