I understand and agree with all your comments Flo, which is why I am always couteous, polite to all Tesco staff, until such time as they are rude to me. I always fight the corner of the checkout operator when a snotty CS person or manager is rude or blames checkout operators.

Well I've also been CS and that has its challenges.:rotfl: But nothing beats a long shift on a checkout.

Its just sad that the employees sat on the till, doing one of the most stressful jobs in the shop are then the scapegoat for others mistakes. I've held just about every position going in a supermarket right up to the dizzying heights of management and my young days on the checkouts were the worst.

Its not so much making a scapegoat, more about adding to the (long) list of stuff cashiers need to check anyway.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure
  • A little off subject, which other threads would you recommend for some serious money saving/special deals? I'm sure none can compete with what Tesco has to offer, but there must be more goodies out there!
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!
  • Hi everyone. My first post - please be gentle. I work for Tesco on Checkouts mostly but sometimes on CSD. I've lurked on the site for some time now and thought it was only polite to introduce myself.

I hope I can offer advice/help etc and look forward to "chatting" with you all.

So you are hereby promising yourself as a friend rather than foe?

As a friend we welcome you :D

It is if they're going to be disciplned for not checking the sticker price against the scanning price.
  • Well hello then! I hope you are amused by the slightly imature behaviour on here, and become one'v the regulars! I have to go but I'm sure we will meet again.
