How often would this really happen? I would be very surprised if stores checked their refunds against whether the items were stickered, then checked to see who sold it and then checked the audit log to see if a message flagged the item on the till. Lets face it would be much easier to walk the store and remove the stickers rather than place extra burden on cashiers particularly during this busy time - when I'm also going to be playing 20 questions while there serving me.:p
I just hope the cashiers are in a good union.0 -

I don't doubt you as I know that the till number is recorded when a refund is given but that's a lorra meetings!
It's a sad reflection on Tesco PLC that the blame is shifted onto the cashier (minimum wage Dudes working to feed their families) than the Chiefs responsible for Price Integrity!
Also interesting that Tesco have their own version of the Official Secrets Act that their people have to sign....

Employees in most supermarkets have to sign many, many training training briefs, too many for them to possibly remember them all. Everytime a problem occurs a new training session - forged notes, underage sales, whatever the store has had its butt kicked for lately.0 -

The process you mentioned is a long drawn out one - The CSD member of staff simply records the fact that a pre-priced item was not manually put through at the lower price and informs a front end SEM.
As i said it is store specific, time consuming - yes, Beneficial to the store? - Yes, only 1 R+R on a stickered entertainment line this week so far.Stand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0 -

Why not just take the stickers off? More a PID problem than checkout issue.0 -

I bet the checkout manager has a few words with the entertainment manager if they are getting the blame for their mistakes - nice atmosphere.0 -

That would not work at the moment when the 'Price Blitz' sale is on - Literally hundreds of diffrent titles - It would mean trying to fit 100 SELs per shelfStand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0 -

No blame culture - Just making all members of staff aware of the issues, 99.9% of staff have embraced and welcomed the idea hence only one R+R this week on a Entertainment line.Stand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0 -

The stores I visit do not usually have sels up for cds/dvds/games whether the item is stickered or not. Which breaks TS regulations, but thats nothing new.0 -
