I purchased some alcohol listed as 2 for £16 only to be charged £20 odd. When challenged the response was "Oh its an expired offer , it doesnt matter as it has a date on"

As for passing losses on to suppliers it is true, supermarkets squeeze the suppliers for everything they can all the offers are at the cost of the supplier 2 for 1's the stores buy the stuff half price and promise to sell twice as much, the console offers will be a deal with EUK as will the buy a chart cd/dvd and get money off a certain cd. most suppliers agree to things as loosing a huge customer will normally force the company to fold.0 -

CS took delight in informing me that from next week the policy is changing and we will only get double the difference back. Which in the case of BOGOFs still amounts to your money back, unless I'm wrong. LOL.
Must be trying to clamp down on refunds on overpriced items.
Should be an interesting one.
The policy is certainly not changing from next week.Stand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0 -

This is common place in Supermarket retailing for example if Dove is on BOGOF, Then Unilever will absorb the cost of the BOGOF, They will also pay a hefty premium of upto £50,000 to Tesco to secure their place on a promotion end.Stand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0 -

I had on PSP games 8 x stickered £19.94 most scanned at £19.99 however some scanned at £34.xx....
Turning up with 8 games probably raised the alertness of the checkout operator. This isn't a critiscm (hopefully a helpful comment) but if you had tried it with 2 they might not have noticed. With 8 they probably thought something funny was going on, r & r, dodgy credit card etc
But as the Dude says "each to their own".........0 -

As i stated elsewhere im not going to comment on it further as to avoid being called a liar or baiting people but as you are all well aware the total Tesco policy is under review (ie: The 28 days section, Entertainment, Clothing etc,)Stand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0 -

Or maybe it could be to do with an instant message appearing on the tills when the operator signs on asking them to check all pre-priced items and if needed to call a supervisor to 'reduce' the price to that stated on the sticker.Stand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0 -

I wasn't being argumentative, just asking, I'm not aware of Tesco policy being reviewed, obviously not aswell informed as others.0 -

Interesting.
When I got some PSP games recently the check-out lad seemed to make a point of looking first at his till LCD and then at the sticker.
Thought I was about to be rumbled - then he passed the items on to me without a word.
Not sure about this one,
