Tesco misprice discussion area part 16

When I went to Tesco for my big christmas food shop I forgot to take my tesco card, therefore couldn't use my vouchers or get more points. As its the Tesco extra at the other end of the city, not the closer one that I normally use will I have to go to that one to sort out my vouchers and points or can I do it at my local tesco? Also how long do I have to 'use' my receipt to get my points added?

Points can be added at any Tesco within 28 days.

Money off vouchers or points vouchers? You may be able to get the extra points added but the money off ones can not be used retrospectively.

Can anyone please tell me if Tesco till staff get into trouble for accepting vouchers from competitor stores? I mean the ones that scan such as Somerfield, Asda or Sainsbury but may or may not be scanning for more than the face value or may be store specific but still scan thru Tesco's tills (my conscience is bothering me today !). I usually work on the basis of try them and see - if they go thru thats great, if they don't then its just hard luck.

Yes, they can. It is only conditional spend ("save £5 when you spend £50" etc) that should be accepted from other retailers. A load of invalid vouchers could well result in an interview and a spot of retraining.

the vouchers that I got for accumulating points...i.e. money off cat food, washing powder and a free bag for life etc.

I clicked on this post to get Tesco tips but have been trailing through post after post of people getting abusive to one another. Guess it's probably tit for tat but it is really a waste of peoples time who are genuinely interested in getting useful information from this post. If there are any moderators out there who can delete the trashy posts it would be appreciated.

I'm always wary about posting on this thread, worried that my question will get lost in all the abusive posts. Luckily this hasn't happened, but I've no doubt it will one day.
