You offer any pensioner in a home a garibaldi or a tenner they'll take the garibaldi every time:rotfl:
Not as funny as it sounds. The Garibaldi is more useful to them as they can enjoy eating it. There's no way of spending the tenner; it will probably just disappear.
Often money isn't the be all and end all ;)
    Can I help?

Unfortunately if youve only read the last couple of days posts, then I will acccept a lot of the blame for this.

On both ocassions may I say tho.....both the OP's that kicked it off, hadnt posted for a while, came on and stirred something up that had "run out of steam" a while ago.......and brought an old argument to the forfront.

When this thread is on song..its brilliant.

When it goes bad....unfortunately you are correct........its terrible.

We have individuals still on this thread who can (correctly) answer most Tesco related questions.

If you wish to look at another site.....try here......

    http://misprices.forumup.net/index.php?mforum=misprices&sid=79dee905e1968491ac75a02682c3c2c4

Its been set up by one really experienced and trusted MSE RandRer and his friends.

One of their rules is no "arguing" or "un nice" behaviour.

That seems to take away peoples personalities and subdues them.....but makes it easier to read, although there isnt much info in it yet.

There doesnt seem to be much "deep and meaningful" questions and answers either.....but its early days.

And if you dont want to talk about Tesco related things......you can always talk about anything you wish.....football, cars, websites etc.

Anyway......neither of you appear to have posed a question or had a query, if you were to, I'm sure it would be answered constructively on here.

Same applies to below as well

    Leadhead

Can I ask you how old are you ?

Why do you suppose only people on this site can answer a question (correctly?) you really need to get away from this MSE v EPH, most people (As I do) post on both sites witout feeling disloyal to any site. both sites have something to offer and why can't people use both ? EPH is already providing a very good misprice thread and the site as a whole is about to be vastly improved over the next week ! so lets accept that both sites exist and are used by many people who comfortable using the two sites,

Why don't you make it a new year's resolution to try spending less time sitting in front of a PC screen and being confrontational ?

    Now chill out mate

    im away looking for misprices

anyone who has Nintendo DS Lite and is willing to swop for a PSP (please see my post on the trade thread of EPH http://misprices.forumup.net/index.php?mforum=misprices&sid
  • Squirrels are interesting animals....when they find attractive overpriced nuts they tend to hide them somewhere in one of their nests for a rainy day...

...of course the same principle can be applied to DVD's and CD's that you 'really really want' - you can place them somewhere in the Tesco store where only you know where they were for future use...(behind the cereal packets for example) - This is not doing anything wrong - you are simply moving one product from a shelf and placing it somewhere else for a rainy day - somewhere you may wish to revisit in the future....If you are a lucky squirrel then some of the DVD's may have stickers on them that indicate them to be one price and actually they will scan at a MUCH MUCH higher price - these are the best sort of nuts to squirrel away - in some cases the difference can be as much as £35 between the sticker price and the scanning price particularly for some of the boxset DVD's...

Of course you could walk out with a straightforward R+R but imagine that Tesco do change their policy to double the difference - the old price for your 'nut' was £15 and the new price is £51 - that means they'd have to give you double the difference - that's £71!!! minus the cost of the actual 'nut' which is £15 so you'd get to keep DVD and walk out with £56...

I am simply squirreling away some of my favourite 'nuts' in my local Tesco's as then when I can afford them I shall go and buy them. I am not selecting ones that are massively overpriced on purpose - it just seems those are the ones I like the most!!! ;)

best of luck... oh one final piece of advice - when you got to collect your 'nuts' make sure no other squirrels (especially blue and white ones) catch you as then they might accuse you of hiding or playing with their nuts.... (Sorry couldn't resist at least one pun....) - I find my obsessive compulsive disorder means that I like to hide things on a regular basis - I know it is strange but I cannot seem to stop doing it - they can call me a 'nutter' but I cannot stop myself especially with high value nuts...

Blue and White squirrels reading this - I am looking forward to your lovely new policy - now I get lots of free cash + the product - fantastic!

Oh and by the way if you are thinking of worming out of paying more cash than the original purchase price then you won't be able to as I've already checked with trading standards...a new era of the rebellion begins...!

Has there been a change to policy, or is it still rumour?
