Check the music folder to see if it is music in it, and you havnt put something else in by mistake.
I dont know what to suggest ,cause in system folder its empty on the one i updated and the Sorell update is out side any folder.
Charge it full up using electric socket ,then see what happens to the screen.
If i thought copying my system folder from mine and emailing it to you i would do that,so you could delete the file you have in the system box now. BUT i am not sure sure if that will work.
With luck someone else will reply and give advise.
Failing that call Grundig <dont email them as they dont reply> ask them what to do .Oh maybe you could try reset , or if there is something to take the player back to how you had it when you bought it.
Let me know how you get on.0 -
Again imho - many thanks for your time and advice.
I have charged up but no change - folder has only mp3's in and i can't find anything thin enough to get in the reset hole! Lol!!!
Will persevere.
Thanks again0 -
Ok so look on this page for a cheap number to cal Grundig with http://www.saynoto0870.com/ If they say you have to call a 0870 number tell them your phone is blocked from calling those high rate numbers. Ask to speak to some one techi who knows about the Grundig player. See if theres any way you can get this software update off the player , or what those lines are you are getting,or how you can get back to the original software. Ask them what happens if you just delete the updated folder you have done, and i email you the copy of what i have in mine and you copy it into yours . Worth asking .
I would copy the music you have on the player to the laptop then delete the music thats on the player, then see what happens,if its still got that lined screen ,call Grundig .
Come back and let me know what happens , i be interested just incase same thing happens to mine .0 -
Ok just search this thread and someone named Forcedo ,<its thread number 580> He downloaded the update what you did and his wasnt working right so he has now downloaded a earlier version of it and his is ok now. Look for the update he put on , your going to have to do a lot of searching for it.
Or you could try and download the update you already got on it and install it again . You did rename it and put it in system folder ?0 -
bluey Ok looked again on this thread its Donnie you need to ask about the earlier update .Look at thread 597 . other people have put the same one on as you and asked him for the earlier version.
Send him a personal message. He is a like a nice guy , as he is always helping other people on here.0 -
I don't need to PM it. I'll just upload it and place a link here
Download it and then read from post #487 onwards for installation instructions, as there are relevant and useful tips thereafter.
I have just uploaded the latest version on the list. If you prefer another, let me know.
Hi Bluey.
I followed Donnie's instructions in his post above..click on the word "here"..you can then download the most recent update...but remember to replace "SV-15" with "VP6200" then copy it to your system.. but make sure you don't disconnect the USB until it has finished..anyway like Donnie said download it then read post #487

Followed instructions but still got lines across screen
Did update etc. I'm away now for a few days but thanks to your help I can now at least listen to the player.0 -
bluey .Blimey you are up early . When you get back, plug it back in and see whats in the system folder now. if it looks the same as before i dont think the update is going into it. Because when you look into the system folder its the same on it as the one i have that hasnt been updated .
Call Grundig and tell them about the lines, dont say you have tried to update it. With luck they will exchange it for you.0 -
All of the firmware revisions are contained here: http://rapidshare.com/files/59981270/VP6200_firmware.rar
Just try another version.
Which Grundig version was installed initially?0 -
Thanks Donnie for coming on this thread. I dont think Bluey has installed update it on his player, as he doesnt have that Sorell screen come up .0
