  • Well after reading most of these pages I decided to buy my first Personal Media Player, I'v had no problems with the Grundig site and it came bang on the date I ask for which was today the 24/11, only ordered on the 22/11..
Wish me luck because I know zero about these machines, but I'm sure if I get stuck one of you guys will put me right..

Thanks to everyone of you that posted on this thread, because I would not have gone ahead and brought the Grundig vp6200 without reading all of the posts first.

  • Problem already...my machine will not power up by the switch...only if it is sitting in the charging cradle with the charger on or the USB cable plugged into the PC, I have charged the battery for five hours + and the battery icon is showing fully charged.. so do I need to alter anything within the player or is it the player it's self that's dud..

    Thanks for any advice.

After months of reading this post with great interest and "I want one"-ness, and not being able to buy one due to discontinued status, I'm pleased to finally own one and it's every bit as good as what you folks have said so.

I've waded through the entire 32 page thread today so a global thanks to all who've posted advice.
Due to having the "restart" problem when playing DIVX-coded files I've gone ahead and upgraded to to the Sorel firmware 15 and this has improved on a few things - this is a beta so anyone know if an official upgrade is now available?

One thing I haven't seen listed in the thread is how to change the background image. It says in the manual to drop a JPG file less than 128kb into the 'System' directory and rename Background.jpg
I can't get this to work - has anyone else?
I suspect that it may be a problem with the pdf manual being translated into english, and therefore the word 'Background' needs to be the native language the manual was written in. Any ideas?

Not being funny bruce, but could you not shout in future posts.

    Thanks.
  • I want to get one of these but I was wondering if anyone knows if it can be connected to a Samsung F86 LCD telly?

The reason I ask is that if it can, I would be able to load my video's onto the grundig, plug it into the LCD tv and watch them!

I know it's a longshot but hoping that someone can help me!
(I've included a link to the specs for the tv).

It should come with leads similar to these.... the Line Out from Grundig to the yellow / red / white component video / phono cables should plug direct into TV, or you can use the Scart converter as below.... ( ignore white D pin computer plug in picture )

Once film has loaded up, change source output to TV from LCD.. .& hey presto !

    Use mine all the time..

    Enjoy !
