Christ on a bike I bet the lead partner at the solicitors is !!!!!!!! bricks over the PI implications of all this!

Anyway, many congrats on your new home.
  • Thanks all,

It is good to be able to "vent" some steam.

The Mrs has been saying, "Don't worry, it'll be all sorted soon".

    Me, I have gone gray!

She now looks very smug indeed!

Outlaws will be picking us up in half an hour with the kids and dropping us off at our new house.

Can't wait to pick up my car from the garage as it has been there all week. It has been a mare using busses!

OP, the one good thing is that the solicitors won't be quibbling about settling your losses. They have been hugely embarrassed by this (and lost 250K into the bargain:rotfl:) and will want it all to go away as quickly as possible without the Law Society poking their noses in.

You could maybe use this to your advantage in coming to a figure of settlement. I suspect that they might be generous if you were to agree not to pursue an official complaint against them in return.

This brought back memories of a horrendous move we had when we ended up with all our belongings piled up on the lawn of our dream house, and no key and no right to access. For us the drama only lasted 2 hours and we were in by 4pm, but this weekend must have been horrendously stressful for you.
Hopefully youre in by now, enjoy your new home!

It'll probably get covered by their indemnity insurance rather than them having to fork out. Will knock the premiums up though.

Plus I reckon that particular solicitor will be having a P45 in their intray sometime soon...

    I've been Money Tipped!
I do hope this firm of solicitors will think long and hard when making up your bill. Anything coming even remotely under the heading of 'our professional charges' would be having a laugh since they have been anything but professional!

Glad it's worked out okay for all in the chain but I'll bet you feel as though you've aged 20 years!

Right, get the Z beds set up then nip down to Tescos for some champers and plastic "glasses" then call at the local chinese for a take-away. Have a picnic in your new front room.

Cheers for a good life in your new home.
