Di, why weren't Endeavour regulated until 2007? DId they never sell insurance before that. What is the exact spelling of your endeavour???

Sorry Di.... my mistake, the spelling is the same as yours as I have just found paperwork from 1990's..... it does state that the company was formely known as UDT Financial Services. The address of my paperwork was Southgate, London.

On a letter I received back in 2008, this is what it says....

your comments regarding the Financial Ombudsman Service have been noted: however EPF did not fall under the jurisdiction of the FOS prior to 6 April 2007.
As your complaint arises to an issue that occurred prior to this date, we believe they may not be able to adjudicate this matter.

So hopefully this will go back to Hamilton if this fails again.

On my paperwork from Endeavour it states they were a susidiary of Lloyds TSB Group?????

The date they give to you is for when the fos took over jurisdiction of secured loans.

I don't have any details of Lloyds TSB on mine, did come across some write-up before, maybe on Competion Commission website that Lloyds are part of EPF.

The FSA register says that they were authorised in October 2004 (don't know if this was for insurance though but FOS should really have jurisdicition over certain things since that date). It also says to contact HFC for anything about them.

This is what mine says. It is a letter on Endeavour Personal FInance and then goes on to say (formerly UDT Financial Services).

I have just googled these and it seems I was right about the way they spelt it back then and it was Endevour

    and then

Crikey, I would never have known that.

Your right about EPF being authorised in Oct 04 as on FSA register, seems like I was 3 months too early when taking out my loan.

Also in addition to that same letter where they said they were not autorised, they said.....

It is important to clarify that whilst HFC Bank owns EPF, the products offered under each brand are different and as such, are subject to differing arbitration services.

That sound like the FIrstplus/ Barclays saga. Does it say that Endeavour are a wholly owned subsidiary of HFC?

On this letter it doesn't, but I did read this on a letter I may have one somewhere that does state that though.
