Morning OSers :santa2:
Happy Birthday Quasar :bdaycake: (My birthday is about a week after Christmas. Did you suffer from joint Christmas and birthday presents as a kid like I did?Rotten parents
)
And Crazychick I hope your Bunny perks up a bit.
The kids are on school holidays now, which means DD2 can sleep for as long as she wants. We may not see her until Wednesday! DS1 is poorly. I can't work out if he has winter vomiting virus or tonsilitus (sp?) Anyhoo.... we're going to go through the farce of trying to get a doctor's appointment. Ring at 8.30 - won't be able to get through - then you do - then there are no appointments left. Told to ring again at 2.30 - won't be able to get through - then you do - then there are no appointments. Told to ring tomorrow. Repeat for days on end.
Christmas lunch in our house is beginning to run out of control. Four of us live here - me, OH, DS1(12) and DD2(9). DD1(24) lives in London, but comes home for the holidays. My father invited himself to sleepover for 2 days over Christmas (he lives about a mile away) so DD1 is on a put-u-up bed in DD2's room. So that's 6 so far.
DstepS(17) wants to come too, so he's on a put-u-up in DS1's room. FIL wants to join in (his partner has just passed away and he doesn't want to be by himself - perfectly understandable) so he's on a camp bed in the dining room. We're up to eight now.
Now DstepD(17) want to come for lunch and bring her boyfriend too - making it 10 for lunch. Most of me thinks it will be a wonderful family Christmas, the kind the kids will remember all their lives, but part of me thinks it will turn into a Mike Leigh farce. And my credit card is still in two pieces (that's a whole other thread  )
So have a good day everyone. Hugs to all (especially the poorly bunny).
PW
xx
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.
Oi you lot - pleaseGIVE BLOOD
- you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

:hello: Gooooooood Morning fellow OS'ers
Many Happy Returns, Quasar!:bdaycake:
Congrats on your first 1000 Kas :T :T :T Looking forward to many, many more:beer:
Off shopping today to get some last minute bits and bobs. Got out the boxes from the gift cupboard and rummaged around some "secret places" (ok, the "I-just-stuff-it-in-here-outa-the-way-until-the-coast-is-clear" places) and last night my lounge is covered in gifts to be wrapped, gifts I have wrapped, lists of who's getting what, what is still to be got, paper, tissue paper, bows, ribbons and boxes!! There they will stay too until I return later today and finish off what I started
I've still got a couple of fleece blankets to complete before the big day too, but I'm getting faster the more I do.
Food is very much grab-it-when-you-can style and I have some soup in the fridge and rolls for dunking, so no worries on that front (some grated cheese will make it more substantial)
I'm pleased with how it's all falling into place actually because there was a point where I thought I'd bitten off more than I could chew!
On the "Must Do" list is to put in a repeat prescription form; change up some euro's for France (Thursday! :j :j ) and ... hide all those boxes that are littering the lounge as soon as I'm home later and have wrapped todays purchases.
Had a great shop yesterday when Sainsbury's paid *me* 50p to take the 'free' bags of oranges :rotfl: (ok, they were reduced to 50p a bag but buy 2 and the multibuy offer still flagged up so I bought two for £1 and the till auatomatically reimbursed me the £1.50 off ) Now *that's* a real bargain :rotfl:
Off for my bath shortly and I'll give the bathroom a quick spritz with my zoflora mix - only takes a minute or two.
Have a great moneysaving Monday everyone:wave:

Hi everyone :santa2:
Happy birthday Quasar and Congratulations Kaz on getting to 1000 posts.
Tru I know exactly what you mean about some people at the supermarket. It is almost as if they have some twisted radar that makes them drift towards you or just in front of you as you try to pass them. Christmas seems to bring them all out in force at once.
Work today but my lovely boss is paying me early (and secretly I am hoping that he gives me a nice Christmas bonus too. I could really do with the extra money now.) Busy afternoon though as DS has an orthodontist appointment at 2 so I have to finish work, pick him up from school then drive through the centre of Preston to get to the surgery then drive back through the city centre to get to the bank before 3.30 so I can bank my cheque then pick DD up from school. I hate having to rush about especially at this time of year (see above - wandering shoppers aren't just confined to the supermarkets. ). Moan over.
Breakfast today will be boiled egg and toast, methinks. Lunch is turkey salad on wholemeal bread and fruit salad with yoghurt. Dinner is chicken curry with rice.
Have a great day everyone. X"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Mornin all!
Happy Birthday Quasar! :bdaycake:
I'm sitting here dressed in a Mrs Santa Claus outfit! Why? Because at our school today it is CHRISTMAS DAY! Everyone, Teachers and kids have to come dressed as something christmassy, and donate a pound to our local hospice, so I'm Mrs Claus.
Parties tomorrow, break up Weds, YEAH:beer:
Out on Thurs for my Xmas bash with collegues.
Have a good day everyone!I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0 -

WELL DONE KAZ ON 1000 POSTS!!!!!:j
Had a lovely relaxing day yesterday, stayed in our jim jams all day (until i had a lovely long bath and changed into fresh ones!!!) had a delicious piece of lamb and then DD and i made lots of chocolate brownies and scones. That with a helping of Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean 2) sandwiched inbetween - lovely!!!!
Still working this week (no work, no pay:o ) but just 2 little ones here. We have a little christmas party to goto so might pop along to that for an hour. Also need to do a little cleaning and want to make a stew in the SC with the left over lamb.
Right, better get moving, neither of my children are up (they are also at school until Wednesday) so need to get them moving.
Oh, we also have Christingle tonight, i love that service!!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
