Parisien - you have to use the tesco vouchers direct with the company and have to use full price fares. Nutt travel just seems to have cheaper prices!

ETA Though it is a pity we cant combine the two lol!!

It's about time a road link was established between Ireland (north or south) and the UK mainland, there have been plans afoot for a long time for a tunnel from Liverpool or Holyhead to Dublin by 2030 but this will most likely never happen however a tunnel or bridge could surely be practical between Northern Ireland and Scotland? There is less distance between NI and Scotland then England and France..
I suppose nothing will happen until the financial climate improves but this would certainly force the ferry companies to be more competetive just as they have to be on continental sailings.

Oh I would just love to see them do a tunnel past the Beaufort Trench!

why dont you just fly over and hire a car - that is what we do and it is around the same price or less and saves you a lot of time travelling.

I have no choice, have to take car over to a specialist dealer for some work, no one this side of the North Channel can do it.

But I knew that when I bought it!!!

They built the gas pipeline through it without incident. In the plans for the tunnels, the trench is mentioned as one of the hurdles to overcome though, personally, I would support one of the routes into the ROI as from a point of view of travelling from England, these routes would have a much shorter overall travelling time.

This is the thread to flag up those offers for our regular travellers......saves a bundle!

Word of note...if you do use the TESCO voucher system, you have to register the vouchers then wait approx five days to actually use them on line.

Oh no they didn't! For months there were munitions in a dangerous state washing ashore in Scotland and Northern Ireland because the edges of the dump were disturbed. No GPS in 1946 you see ;)
