I think it is a fantastic idea to post on the P&O ferries facebook page about the cost of travel from here to the UK
I too have posted, and encouraged all my friends on FB to do the same, plus all the followers on the business page and on my twitter page - lets get a campaign going folks!DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -
The other half and I had been looking at renting a caravan in scotland and the cost of the ferry, regardless of company made it a non option. It actually worked out cheaper to get the boat to the Isle of Man, then take another ferry to Liverpool and drive up than the return fare from Belfast Stranraer.
The cost of living in this little part of the world does not compare with the basic salaries we all get over here!0 -

So in summary... We'll charge you high prices cos we can and you will pay..
Yes that's basically what I got from it. They have no competition so will charge what they like.
Thing is, I am on a few camping/caravaning websites and the amount of people that would visit here but go to France instead as it so much cheaper, surely our NITB should be onto the case to get more tourists across? or even our MLA's?0 -
Ok I just wrote an email to the Belfast Telegraph and 3 MEP's with P&O's reply.
Doubt it will do any good, but it's a start.0 -

Channel passengers are used to cheap prices which P&O don't want to raise and they're making us subsidise instead?! What competition are they talking about - if it's the 'Chunnel' fair enough but all the other ferry companies will be the same.
How about passengers pay for what the crossing costs?! I'm not subsidising booze cruises unless I get some of the booze!0 -

I really think we should try to get a campaign going - spread the word!
Anything is worth a try!
If we all write to our MEP's MLA's?
