    Tryed both sites and put a test date as if i was booking. Allowing for exchange rate they were the same price. Don't know were you got such a big differnce. :cool:

    No, poster had used same site only through ie and uk web address. Both bring you to Stena.There would be no diff in price. Stena aren't that daft.Pity!:D
  • Priced a booking from stranraer to belfast for a week in oct....cheapest price they could offer was £248!!!!!!!! Absolute rip off
  • Only way it will ever be cheaper is if someone puts another boat on the same route, that's not happening

    I think a boycott is called for......if we do nothing them will continue to rip us off, am wondering what subsidies are offered on some of the Scottish routes, can we make a case for the same?

    Parisien - where will the subsidies come from? That's right, tax money.
    alex 21 - not really, supply and demand, what you gonna do, go with another crossing? There isn't one! That's the problem, not enough competition, and not enough people using the service, so economics of scale gets worse.

    The subsidies are there to provide routes that wouldn't be there at all or would be at a much reduced frequency without them. You have an unsubsidised route, you don't need a subsidy for it to run.
