I read on Martins Money Page:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/car...-card-interest
"HSBC 16.9%
MoneySavers Experiences: c. 0% for six months (2.9% fee)"
I read that moneysavers have had success with HSBC when asking the bank to transfer a balance from another credit card to their exisiting HSBC credit card.
I telephoned today and was told that they only do balance transfers for existing customers when an offer is on, and I would receive a letter. Without such an offer and letter, no balance transfer is possible and would be automatically rejected.
I have £0 balance on my HSBC credit card and a very high unused limit.
Has anyone had any other experiences with HSBC Credit cards?0 -
Yes, I get periodic 0% offers from HSBC. They're generally 6 months 0% with a 2.9% fee, but last month I had one where the fee was only 1.5%. Still 6months 0%.0

Paid off original BT in October and just received another 12 months at 0% (3% fee) from my RBS cc including allowing my 'cash' limit (which is half of the total limit) to be paid directly into my bank account - happy days. Stoozing is no longer very profitable but ongoing non property related borrowing at 3% pa works nicely for me cashflow wise.0

NatWest 0% for 15 months, 4% fee though. That's on a classic card.0

got the same on a Natwest Platinum as well, 15 months 4% fee - rang to see if there was any other deal, like less of a fee, no go, so account closed.
Barclaycard showing 0% till August with 2.9% fee, again called to see if there was a longer / less fee - no go, so account closed.0 -
Hello, I called Lloyds asking for my debt to be lowered on my credit card. They only offered a loan. I explained I did not want to pay interest on top of interest and I would look at other card vendors. The representative seemed happy with that. Perhaps this relates to the next day Lloyds announced plans to make 1000 jobs redundant (see BBC news on 7 February).
At any rate, after getting nowhere with Lloyds I followed MSE's advice to find a best balance transfer card offer and got one at 0% for 22 months that will cover a huge amount of my present debt.
I will then transfer over as much debt as I can from Lloyds, pay it off in monthly sums and close that account. Then I should have at least a year to pay down debt on my new card until interest gets charged.
Thanks for your help MoneySavingExpert!0 -
Just applied and got accepted for a Natwest CC. Happy to transfer my balance to them on a 0% for 13 months and only a 1% transfer fee. Saved a few quid there. Transferring from my Barclaycard, which the 0% deal ends in June.0
