When is the return leg installment due to commence?0

Just resurecting this thread as it's the return leg today!
They got there fine. No problems crossing Heathrow and they got on the Mumbai flight ok. There was a short wait at Mumbai as the Goa flight was delayed, but they got there eventually.
The room Dad had booked in Goa was minging. Spoke to Mam and she said it was filthy. It was supposed to have a kitchen area, but the fridge had no shelves in it and there was a sink, and that was it! No crockery, or kettle or anything.
They ended up moving accomodation as Mam said she didn't want to stay there for two weeks and they moved into a better apartment which was spotlessly clean and had a proper kitchen area and a sitting room area too.
They would had an early start this morning as the Goa flight left at 7am Indian time.
The would have landed in Mumbai at 7.55am, but the Virgin flight didn't depart until 2pm (still Indian time), so plenty of hanging around there.
I've just checked the Heathrow site and the Virgin flight has been delayed. It is due to land at 19.30 now and the Newcastle one takes off at 20.05. I think we can safely say they have no chance of catching it. They're going to be really tired and stuck at Heathrow this evening I think.
As Dad refused to book the £15 Travel Lodge room I found him, they have no overnight accomodation, so I'm off to look up the cheapest room rates I can find for when they ring from Heathrow.
I think Dad will be banned from booking holidays nowHere I go again on my own....0 -

The cheapest place that I know near to Heathrow (where I stay after flying in from India):
Cleveland Hotel
Tel: 01895 257618
4 Cleveland Rd, Uxbridge UB8 2DW
It has a single room that goes for 25 pounds, with doubles costing a bit more.
It is opposite Brunel University and so easy to find. There is a bus every ten minutes from the main Heathrow bus station, I think bus 104 or 140, but it is the bus that goes on to Hayes and Harlington station and to Uxbridge.
Not luxurious, but comfortable and with a good breakfast.
Incidentally, it is perhaps a blessing that they did not book the Heathrow Travelodge. It is on a motorway and so the only way to get there is by taxi. And taking a taxi from Heathrow for a short journey would be asking for trouble with the driver.0 -
Your folks may actually be OK. Quite a few flight disruptions at Heathrow due to the weather."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

On a similar type of pickle (well, more an inquiry!) ...
I am leaving for NZ in March, I have booked on the one carrier (Air NZ) going from B'fast-heathrow-Auckland(via LA)-christchurch... My BMI flight from B'fast lands at around Mid-day..my Air NZ flight leaves Terminal 3@around 2.30...I was wondering about my luggage..will it automatically be transfered or will I have to collect it at T1? Also, how handy is it moving from Terminal to Terminal at Heathrow (ain't never been there!) Its the time factor im worrying about!
Many Thanks0 -

Is all your journey on one ticket? If so, your luggage should be checked through; otherwise it is likely to be at BMI's discretion. Try asking your travel agent or BMI what will happen to your luggage.
Terminals a, 2 and 3 are all pretty close to each other, with moving walkways to help speed you along. So long as you don't get lost it should take less than fifteen minutes (and the signs are very clear).0 -

Yea, journey all with the one carrier...Booked on-line with Air NZ..
Advice noted and I think ringing BMI closer to the time might be the best option then... I just tend to worry!
