cosmic-dust wrote::rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: so if this company was going bust do you honestly think the would give you a £10 e-voucher.
Why not? It restores customers faith a bit, and maybe they are hoping some people will believe that and not cancel orders.
But if they do go bust they have lost nothing at all. As i said before i am not in a postion to be able to risk it plus they were christmas presents so would not be here in time anyway. I hope it works out for others0 -
Hootie19 wrote:I've just read on another board, by someone who claims "to know stuff but can't say much" that people should spend Adams vouchers or return items to their stores asap.
Nothing further said, but the implication is there.
I have no idea if it's got any basis in fact (and maybe this shouldn't even be posted, but if it's inappropriate, no doubt it will be removed), but at least the word is out there.
I don't suppose you could post a link here to the other board that you found this gem in?I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0 -
Adams in Edinburgh, St james centre is closing,. Not great bargains to be had yet but the shoes were half price.0

Really, if Adams was going to rip everyone off, take money & not send the goods, every item would have all sizes showing instock so more people order maximum rip off.
Hardly anything instock so peoples orders are limited.
Adams might be closing but I trust that we will be charged for only what we receive. They have the stock to shift.
I for one will be very sad to see it go as I clothe my kids out with nectar vouchers.
Sainsburys might be willing to exchange your Adams vouchers if the worst happens, not sure the score on this.0 -
Hi
I have just spoken to Adams customer care and been told that they will dispatch orders in time for Christmas. This will be by 1st class post today and tomorrow or by Special delivery from Wednesday as tomorrow is the last day set by the Post office for 1st class deliveries for Christmas.
I was told to check the status online tomorrow but that I will receive an email when the items have been dispatched.
I hope that this holds true as I ordered items for Christmas presents.0 -
I've spoke to CS at Adams this morning. According to CS they are not closing (not like they're going to say yes really) but they are aware of the rumours and she said its a hoax. They are very busy and running to full capacity to get orders out. As mine says its despatched, I should get mine in the next day or two. Lets hope it is just rumours.I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you
would like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing

A technical problem has been causing them problems and all orders will be with customers prior to Christmas. To be fair they returned my call but the Lady I spoke with didn't exactly inspire me.....fingers crossed. As they say, there's very rarely smoke without fire but I am hopeful in this case it's just a wind up. Every shop on the highstreet is slashing prices, it's a jungle out there....times are tough and I'm sure it doesn't mean that retailers such as Argos or Woolworths are closing down. I have advised Adams of this board (I'm sure they might have already been aware) as I think it would be a good idea if they put people's minds at rest and post something here. Let's see what happens but above all, chill out.........Consider anything only don't cry!0

This is all causing me a bit of a headache now!
I don't know who to believe. I've got a £80+ order with Adams which I paid for with my Adams Mastercard so don't know if that means I'm safe or not!
I just hope it is a hoax as I posted links to the 50% sale on another forum and loads of people are still waiting for their orders still!0 -
I managed to get through to custmer services, but not on 0500 no. She said the closing down is a hoax - um I'm not convinced and that the delay was because of technical difficulties and that they where guaranteeing delivery for Xmas . Rang my cc and they have not debited my a/c yet.
Don't know whether to cancel order or risk it.0 -
I would be very disappointed if Adams didn't reply to this board or at least put out some kind of statement as this is getting silly. It must be causing them a nightmare as well as worrying many here....myself included. My wife thought I was some kind of superhero that I managed to get hold of a Fifi Hat & Mittens set with 50% off....I think I could quickly become a baddie.....lolConsider anything only don't cry!0
