Adams - an anti-grabbit quick almost

Heard from a very liable source ie a liquidator that one of the high street stores will go on the 22nd Dec, was advised that it was someone I used to shop at and this looks ominous ( my kids are too old for Adams now). Guess i would be keen to go get from the store rather than wait for an order.

I have just spoken to a lady and she said that they are getting alot of calls and she has no idea why? She assures me that they are NOT closing! So fingers crossed she is right

I'm panicking - I spent £99.75 - 25p short of being able to get it back from credit card company!!! - the phone is not being answered, after generic email - would normally address you individually, it's clearly been sent out generally, not just to a few customers - and the website is not working, not letting me log onto account. Is there anyway to get money back from a credit card once it's been authorised?

Their accounts are also quite overdue (31/8/06) at Companies House - not a great sign.

I cant get through on the phone, and the web site seems to be down. I am a bit worried, although i only spent £25.00, that is a lot of money for me and I really cant afford to loose it. *sigh*

I have just logged on to website and checked my account, still on picking so website is working OK. Hope everyone posts on here when they get their parcels to put peoples minds at rest.

Spoke to nice lady at Tesco's credit card, which I (think I) paid with - she said you should be covered if paid for order with a credit card even if under £100. Probably. So let's hope.

Also phoned local store who knew nothing - but they would, wouldn't they? They'd be out of a job and probably lose back pay too, so they'd be the last to be told.
