Just as a FYI I submitted my tax return on 19th and my repayment is showing in mystic bank account for tomorrow.
Quickest one so far and very much needed as (fingers crossed) I'm getting the keys for my new flat tomorrow!!! So excited :j0 -
burnoutbabe wrote: »yes, record it that way. You are doing these jobs to build up experience and a rep with the company. I also make sure i deduct the full amount i had to spend (say the burger company where the min cost is 20p MORE than the reimburesement) but obv not when i have chosen to spend more.
If you record it any other way, you would basically be taxed on the full value of every pizza! and have to ague "well yes, the pizza i enjoyed so is taxable but the burger job i didn't really eat, more sampled so don't tax that as a benefit"
I make a loss on quite a few jobs when i do my tax return. Don't forget to take off printing costs (i deduct £5 a year for the cost of printing - ie a ream of paper).
Thank you. I'm glad I asked, it was looking like I was going to have to pay HMRC back some money when I have made a few losses over the year, like you say to build up a rep with the company! Thanks again...hopefully it wont be as bad next year!0 -
Don't you just feel awful when a staff member builds a rapport with you and then tells you "off the record" that you can buy the same product cheaper just down the road from another retailer!0

That's appalling.
But a phrase about the sort of primate you attract when you pay peanuts springs to mind.Misty_Blue wrote: »I'm going to balance out my RE proofreader rant from yesterday with a proofreader's rant about mystery shoppers!
The number of reports I'm correcting lately where adult people think it is acceptable to write in text speak without any punctuation in sight is horrendous. And do they think I don't notice that they just copied and pasted one awful report for three separate visits.....??!!!!
No wonder the fees go down for those of us who do the job properly.
"i stood @ the counter an the asistant came over and asked me some q's i thoght she seemed realy smiley an nice and i said....." :eek:If it weren't for mystery shopping I would never have discovered the joy of launch control.0 -
This is an excellent thread! Thanks to the OP & participants. Not from your neck of the woods, or should I say your side of the pond. But the details give food for thought. Never saw these type of guidelines for the "Mystery Shopper" industry. Has been an area of interest for me, just never took the plunge. I guess the legitimacy question must have been in the back of my mind. From this thread it does look like a legitimate possibility.0

berbastrike wrote: »Does anyone think there is an unfair trend between overall ratings and store busyness?
I say this because if the store is busy, more queues, more stressed staff, more untidyness...
If the store is quiet, I feel it gets a higher rating but its hard to try and avoid this and be fair. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Hotel, park visits, spa visit AND all being in another hot country is even better!!!!!!!!
;)
This is getting to be like the Monty Python sketch "The four Yorkshiremen"
UC flight, Vegas weekend, hotel paid for points obtained by RE hotel visits

Hiya!
I was wondering if anyone can help, I was looking at picking up a 'cinema advert' visit, but I can't find much information relating to the actual visit on their website, i.e what I need to do!!
Could anyone let me know briefly what you have to do for them and if it's possible to do 2 cinemas in one day?
Many thanks for any help!!0 -
Hiya, am fairly new to GBusters, and have had an email asking if I would be interested in being an auditor. Can anyone give me an idea what would be involved? Many Thanks!
Please, pretty please!:D
