Morning all
Congratulations on all the new babies and welcome to the newbies
Not posting much coz I'm REALLY grumpy and haven't got anything more constructive than "blah" to say but I am reading! On the plus side, I'm 36 weeks today and baby can come whenever he feels like it. Now would be great!
Hope everyone is doing well, labour vibes to those who want/need them - especially Twinkle
Off to clear out the living room so the plumber can disconnect the fire, then the plasterer can fill up the hole, then DH can paint it and lay the carpet. Can't believe we're still doing up the house, I really wanted to be done by now!0 -
Its my booking in appointment today (better late than never) I am hoping that I wont get a scan today as I only have £20 at the mo to last the week, I think scans are around £7 each now but I cant afford that this week. I would rather get pictures of the 20 week scan though, i've not been too fussed on getting the 12 week pics but it seems if you don't buy them and show them off on every forum you joined your either a troll or a deluded school kid.
Minor tiff on babyandbump last night about the authenticity of my pregnancy, I thoroughly understand that some 1st and 2nd time mums automatically assume that everyone wants to show their scan pic at every available opportunity as a sort of validation of pregnancy before the bump shows however this is number 4 for me, i can mentally remember what the scan looks like, little mr blobby waving and squirming, little heart fluttering.....
Scan pictures are £2.50 here. I got two at my 12 week scan. 20week scan were free because the scan machine in antenatal was broken so we had to go to the one in the main hospital that they use on alsorts to look for clots etc. Was really disappointed because antenatal is set up so that parents have their own screen to watch on but the hospital one you had to crane your neck to see the sonographers screen. But the pictures were free as they didnt have a machine to pay for them!
Havent shown my scan pictures to anyone other than close immediately family. Hubby has put his foot down and said he doesnt want them plastered across facebook. He has a general dislike of the way some people live their lives on facebook.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
raven we get the first scan free where we are, then just pay for additional pics, hopefully they may give you one, if not and they ask just tell them you cant afford one this time and they may slip you one anyway.
just put all the bed sheets on the cot and crib etc and re arranged the nursery, looks a lot clearer now. halfway through packing the hospital bags but mind has gone blank so am popping in to look at the list lolnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -
Vaguely wondering why, with winds approaching 45mph, people still think it's a good idea to put up an umbrella? I've seen close to a dozen bite the dust!
Hitchhiker's started this weird thing- feels like it's turning or rolling over. If baby could be so nice and let go of it's grip on my bladder while it turns, I'd appreciate it.....0 -
Very very windy here too this morning.
I feel quite queasy but that's probably because I had a cup of tea followed by a massive takeaway coffee all by 8am and no food :rotfl:
I've got some of those thingys that you hang pants and socks on... Squeak has found the ones we dried yesterday, pulled them all off the little pegs and handed them to me one by one with a very polite 'ta' lol. Comes to something when even the baby has realised that the laundry is slow:o

You have to pay for scan photos??? I've never heard that before. They just give you them here. At least they do for the 12 and 20 week stages.
I've just had a relaxing bath but horror, found a haemorrhoid. sob, sob, sob, sob, sob. Bloody pregnancy!!!!!! I hate being a woman sometimes! I'm now a little more worried about labour, cos that's not exactly going to help is it? Sob, sob, sob. Any advice on how to get rid of it would be very welcome!!!!!!First Baby born January 2007

I dont think you can get rid of them. Pregnancy induced haemorrhoids are supposed to go away naturally after the baby is born though. Make sure you're getting plenty of fibre, having to force yourself to go will make it worse.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
ive never paid for any of the scan photos either - they have the machine where you put money in to exchange for a token but we've never had to use it - and at 20 week scan we got 7 pics for free xSealed Pot challenge" member #1342 Online Saver £60.00

You can gently pop them back in (preferably in the bath otherwise it'll be painful!) but there's no guarantee they won't reappear.
If they hurt you can get all the usual creams and suppositories () on prescription.
We have to pay £5 here, on a token machine, have done ever since DD1.
At the big hospital I was given photos of the twins for free a few times, as the sonographer printed them to check with the consultants and said I may as well have them now they're printed anyway lol.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
