Everyone seems to have aches and pains today :( group hugs all round I think!

Went into town after the Docs as we'd changed our mind about the pram colour and wanted to order the black, (I got talked out of my cream obsession by my sensible OH :( ) so we changed the order and she gave us £80 back, despite the order being the same price, sooo confused, but happy too, an extra £80 in our pocket is very well received. :D

Labour vibes to all the boldies!

  • When I was in hospital last week one set of my bloods clotted on the way to the lab and it took them nearly 2 days to repeat them!

Nope, we talked about it once after the 20 week scan, couldn't agree on anything so gave up. This one will be Bob. Easy to spell, doesn't matter if he gets it backwards and won't be going out of fashion because it's not fashionable :rotfl:

Had my bloods done. Took a peek at the screen she had up and it looks like I am STILL freaking anaemic. Expect another letter from the docs telling me to pick up more iron tablets. Shall I add that to the list of arguments for early c-section? Or will it backfire and they say they won't operate until the levels are up??!
Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!
  • Morning All.
    Oops.....

    Afternoon All.

Sorry to hear of lots of pain and mix ups with blood tests, and to see so many boldies!!! Come on babies hurry up otherwise I won't be answerable to the queue jumping!!

MW been this morning, first time she has come to the house and I felt a bit funny about it but she was lovely. Still measuring big (am now off the chart but am measuring somewhere around 51 weeks!!!) (At 37+5).
Went to the consultant last week, discussed induction etc and he's agreed to let me try and get to 40 weeks before induction but have a sweep and scan booked for tomorrow and one next week. Come on baby hurry up because I wanna go in that water pool!!!

Still on the crutches for a displacing hip (not much wonder with a 51 week sized baby!) - ref the physio, mine said there's not alot they can do to help other than bands for SPD, and common sense advice. Try sleeping with a couple of pillows between your legs, and sitting up straight. Also if you can have a 20 min lie down 2-3 times a day.

Had my leaving do from work yesterday, was really nice, got balloons, flowers, gifts and vouchers. (Finished work 2 weeks ago but was officially on Annual so could've been recalled so waited til I was on maternity.)

Got a bargain cotbed mattress protectors from argos for £1.99, also got pillow protectors and pillowcases for Moses basket mattress which fit a treat and were 1/3 the price of proper sheets.

Got my first nursing bras on Sunday too - OH had to take me as I'm struggling to walk, he firstly nearly had a heart attack at the increase in size, and then at the price. Bless him. (Went to Mothercare, started just trying random sizes then the SA fitted me and it was much better and probably would've taken me ages to eventually get to that size!) Just got 2 tshirt bras (one nude and one black, the nude one was £2 cheaper :-S) and 2 sleeping bras, have looked on ebay and there's quite a few new ones on there so waiting to see if I can get some from there in my size rather than pay MC prices.

Also, some may remember me googling the consultant - he wasn't the person I'd found, and didn't look anything like I expected. Apparently the hosp give you a feedback form, I'm going to suggest they have a who's who part on their website. (It's probably the sort of money wasting stupid thing they'd do!) But on the plus side he was really nice and happy to go with what I wanted for the time being.

Am going to drive into town and see if I can park near enough to go to the bodyshop for some face wash. If not I'll drive back again lol.

Ooh also, got my urine tested as normal today and they're babbling on about a protein trace, and said you have to drink more. It was 10 past 9 in the morning, and I had got up at 10 past 8, there was no time. Looks like I'll have to get up earlier next time and be drinking gallons before going anywhere.

Ok I'm back from the physio. They gave me some advice about keeping my knees together when getting out of the car, bed etc which I already knew. They've given me a booklet too which I may read tonight.
I've been given the support belt so many of you have mentioned so will see if that helps.

She had a feel of my lower back and hips and found that my right hip has slipped out of alignment with my left and is currently tilted forward. She tried to manipulate it back and has booked me in for a fortnights time to work on it some more.

I was quite impressed with them so I'm glad I went.

Gilly - i normally forget to take a sample jar at each visit and end up checking in and then rushing off to loo and by this time my name will pop up and they mark me down as non attended! hehe i must remember to pop up this week and get a sample jar for next time - they should give them out in advance would be much easier - its hard to remember such things with baby brain!

  • Kandy - I thought so long as your platelet count is within the normal range they don't mind you being a bit aneamic for ops, so I wouldnt have thought it'd backfire.
