Had my leaving do from work yesterday, was really nice, got balloons, flowers, gifts and vouchers. (Finished work 2 weeks ago but was officially on Annual so could've been recalled so waited til I was on maternity.)
Got my first nursing bras on Sunday too - OH had to take me as I'm struggling to walk, he firstly nearly had a heart attack at the increase in size, and then at the price. Bless him. (Went to Mothercare, started just trying random sizes then the SA fitted me and it was much better and probably would've taken me ages to eventually get to that size!) Just got 2 tshirt bras (one nude and one black, the nude one was £2 cheaper :-S) and 2 sleeping bras, have looked on ebay and there's quite a few new ones on there so waiting to see if I can get some from there in my size rather than pay MC prices.
Your leaving party sounds lovely - I didn't have one, nor did I get anything (not even a card!) - thought I was a valued member of staff - clearly not....
I got my nursing bras at the weekend too from MC - was surprised that she didn't recommend much of a size increase (just the back, not the cup). They are expensive though - going to see how b/fing goes before getting anymore...
Had my 38 week m/w appointment this morning - all good, baby is now 3/5 engaged so making progress (albeit slow!). My next appointment is 3 days after my due date - she has said I can go next week as well if I want and we can talk about a sweep - should I be having a sweep at 39 weeks?
We moved the cot into our bedroom today - got me thinking about sleeping arrangements though - we have a moses basket and stand for the first few weeks - was planning on having the stand downstairs for naps during the day and carrying the moses basket up to the cot at night - but it seems daft putting a basket in a cot? How have you ladies done it?
Lots of braxton hicks here this afternoon - quite noticeable ones but not at all painful.

Sammy/Gilly - Mine are worse when the air gets to them - if they are covered they are normally not too bad but if I let them hang free (sorry couldn't think of a better way!) they dribble away like a broken tap.
Elmo - I got bought http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fabulous-Mums-Guide-Family-Life/dp/1846053382 and http://www.amazon.co.uk/Confessions-Bad-Mother-cabinet-no-one/dp/0330438751/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1315320280&sr=1-1 for my birthday. Also a load of garble to be honest!
aww i love a good book, ive read for england this week i need new material! hehe just realised there is a free kindle app on my mobile and there are some free books on there - i still find the whole concept weird though - i like proper books - kindle is taking the point away isnt it!
Anyway going to see if i can find any book related bargains on ebay im bored stiff waiting for this munchkin to make an appearance!:pSealed Pot challenge" member #1342 Online Saver £60.00

I bought a nursing bra today as it was cheaper than a maternity one, I'm hoping if I grow out of it, it might come back in on the way down again.Optimistic I know. But anyway, I got it in my local department store (used to be a Co-op one till recently) reduced from £26 to £10, then with 20% off... 8 quid! And they fitted it for me because I couldn't decide if it was the right size. I've gone 30F-32FF-34FF already and I'm only 23 weeks.
So might be worth looking round if you have a department store locally? This one is a Beales, but no idea if they're a chain?

just back from midwife, she gave bump a good old feel and has decided the baby is a "fair size"!!!!!! Last one was 9lb 10 and this one feels like a baby whale so i'm wondering what she thinks a fair size is?????
also told me if i wanted, i could be induced on Friday, gonna have a think about it tonight, heard some right horror stories about inductions! anyone on here had one?
Hi my daughter was induced on Sunday the 7th of August she was already 9 days over and she had to have a caesarian on the Tuesday morning eventually.0 -
i had to get up last night at about half 11 to go get some breast pads on as i was squirting all over the place lol honestly i think i could have leaked at lease a pint of milk lol its horrible yuck was talking to my friend about it today shes got a little squeak shes still breast feeding and she says that she still leaks occasionally like if shes carrying baby downstairs and squished him to tight against her boob shell have a nice patch on her top the next minute - wooooo got all this to look forward to!!!
another friend said she had fed baby and was busy trying to put dressing gown on and baby started flapping about and then she realised she was squirting loads of milk all over babies face hehehe
aaaaaah the joys of being a woman hey?
Lol when i breast fed my daughter 25years ago it used to come out like a fountain and not just the one that was being used. I d be there feeding her and holding a cup under the other one. She was in hog heaven and quickly came adept at not missing a drop. You could see the look of delight on her face when she knew having a feed was imminent. I fed her for 12 months and it was wonderful. Just before her feed was due id feel the milk coming in and it would always be on time eg every 3 hours or whatever. Oh and hot or warm water does encopurage it to leak too.

I sent them a snotty email with my order confirmation attatched yesterday, saying they go back to school tomorrow and they're going to have no PE kit and the wrong polo shirts and I'm not happy.
They emailed me back and admitted they had c0cked up and my order hadn't been sent  but at least they apologised!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
