    Hi everyone,

Hope you and bumps are all well? Sorry to hear about your bloods going missing Kandboys :( I hate having blood taken (I usually faint :() so I can appreciate how annoying that must be :(

I don't know if you remember but at my 20 week scan I was told I had a low lying placenta so I had a scan today to see of it had moved. Good news as it has moved right away so flump has a good escape route and he has also turned head down, which I'm chuffed about as he has been breech for the last few mw / doctor appointments :)

I'd also been worried about his size as he didn't grow between my last 2 doctors appointments but the sonographer did some measurements and all is well. She said he looks like he hasn't been short of a crust or two! So I think we can safely say he's been getting everything he needs from me despite my sickness :)

He currently weighs 6lb with 4weeks and 4 days to my due date so looks like he might be a little chubster!

Whilst we were in town we picked up some baby clothes off a lady from freecycle. They are gorgeous :) so cute :) I can't believe how generous people are :)

    Take care everyone xxx

Have got really bad stomach cramps but can still feel his feel wiggling so don't know what to think, am going to go for drive with OH and go for a bath when I get back and see where we go from there.

I have really strange deja vu from writing this... how strange!
Deb - can't believe they didn't even get you a card, although when I finished my last shift I felt really deflated and the goodbye I got (as in see ya!) so I wasn't holding out much hope, are they doing anything for you afterwards? If not they are a bunch of meanies.
Glad I'm not the only one who thought they were expensive! I was really impressed at how many eyes there are at the back for adjustments, I was expecting there to be 2 so we'd grow out of them quicker and have to buy more!
Glad your MW went ok, I don't think it's common practice to be swept earlier than 40 weeks, I am having it as a (hopeful) alternative to induction because they are concerned over the size of the baby, but I don't want to be induced so consultant said he'd go along with my hopeful plan and see if we can get baby moving early. If not I will be induced on my due date if not before.
And I know people who have put mose baskets in the cot - just becareful if you put it on the floor because it might get dusty - she had a spare duvet cover over the mattress so it stayed clean.

Jen - I've got extender things for my bra 99p from ebay and they saved me having to get inbetween sizes.

  • Mancbird, that's great news about your placenta moving up. We have another scan in October to see if mine has moved.

Jen, if it is just your back getting bigger I would buy bra extenders. That is all I have needed as my b00bs have stayed the same size.

Mimi, I tried the elevated legs, and not a flicker from bump! Still he/she has been plenty active tonight :D

    Does anyone have painful nipples?

Im 25 weeks. Its been happening since the start i think, when they get cold they shrivel up and get really really painful for anything upto half an hour afterwards.

So is this normal? And more importantly how do i get the pain to go away quicker?

Me, mine started hurting at about 8 weeks and still hurt at 26 weeks :( God help me if I go in the chilled section of the supermarket. Many a time I have been wandering round Asda giving them a rub to try and warm them up, but I have found that wearing breast pads gives them a bit extra insulation :D and I keep them well wrapped up in cardigans and the such like now the weather is getting cooler.

That's a good point. I will give that a go. It seems to be particularly bad when I have a shower before bed, so I'm assuming the hot water/steam etc isn't exactly helping.

Not had any personal experience yet, but I had read that a hot bath or shower before BF helps your milk come down, so no it isn't helping. Maybe turn your shower thermostat down a bit?

Your leaving party sounds lovely - I didn't have one, nor did I get anything (not even a card!) - thought I was a valued member of staff - clearly not....

Where I work they usually wait until you have had the baby before buying presents and cards (although we would have a cake on the last day to celebrate!) Hope that is the same at your workplace Debs, otherwise that is just mean. If not, I wouldn't be putting into any more collections that go around and I would tell people why!

Good news today, OH got in touch with his HR department and he will get 2 weeks paternity leave on full pay
  • Jen, your bump photo is muchly reassuring to me. You look about the same size as me and I'm 26+2 :j Phewf!! Thought I was a whale :D

But your legs and ankles look so painful  Ouch!!

Jen you look similar to me in size.... :)

My bump always feels bigger than it looks, I think as well..... Always feel it enters the room first, and I follow some time later. :)

Arrived home to a big package waiting for me- a free Nuby breast pump. It's a manual one. Must go on their facebook page and thank them. Had to get DH to show me how to work it- was lazy and tired and couldn't be bothered reading instructions!
