been reading birth stories again - literally petrified now!!!!!!!
Try not to be scared:) If you are fearful it can direct blood from your uterus during birth, as it thinks you are fearful it will redirect it to vital organs for the fight or flight response. If there's less blood getting to the uterus the muscles can't work as well and the labour can take longer. So try to stay relaxed and the labour should be shorter:)0 -
woooohoooo! I'm a boldie, god that has come soooooo quick!
midwife rang me yesterday because she knows how much organizing i have to do in regards to care of my daughter while i'm in hospital, if nothing happens before, then i'm due to see her on the 6th, a sweep on the 9th and an induction most likely on the 14th!!! Talk about being efficient eh?
That seems so far away tho.and i'm praying i go in way before then
Ecoelle i never had a show 1st time but i did 2nd time, i dont think it's a hard rule that you have one, however i keep going to check, just incase
it's really nice here today so i'm gonna spend the day tidying the garden, hoping a bit of strenuous work will move things along. i'm tempted to get on the trampoline, lolololol!
i have finally cracked and given in to buying a few outfits, all i've bought so far is babygrows and vests, well my friend came round with a gorgeous little dress and tight set for baby and that started me off, i've hit ebay big time, won a few BNWT outfits at a fraction of what they should be and bidding on a few more, not gonna go crazy tho, i've set myself a limit and i'm gonna stick to it.
hope everyone has a productive stress free day and send those labour vibes to us who desperately want them please:)Skint, but happy (ish):p0 -
ecoelle with DS1 I didn't have a show until I was in established labour. Around 5cm dilated I think. And with DS2 I didn't have one at all as I was induced. So don't worry if you don't get a show before you go into labour xxThank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

I was quite teary last night....
Gilly, remember the maternity ad on freecycle?
I met up with the lady expecting a couple of outfits or little bits- she sent me off with a boot and back seat full of clothing, a small chair for baby that vibrates and plays music, and told me to keep her mobile number handy as she's a solicitor and will help if there are any problems with work regarding maternity leave....
I'm bowled over by the amount of clothing alone- it's neatly arranged in bags marked with the sizes, and has been freshly laundered. She sat and talked to me for ages as well, and told me her labour story (have to admit, I read the birth thread yestarday, and I'm both relieved and scared!).
I have no problem putting blue on a girl if thats what we have, but a lot of the clothing is gender neutral-there's a gorgeous snowsuit with little furry ears I love! And of course, anything possible wil be freecycled when we are done. I've made a bag up for my boss already for his baby. Just can't believe the sheer generosity she showed- all the way through the pregnancy people have been so kind and generous.
Might go away for a huge blub now....0 -
I'm annoyed! I want a vibrating chair! Next time you see something tell meeee! Apparently they're amazing at soothing an annoyed baby so well done on getting one
We're getting ready to head off to OH's parents house now, I love going. They run after me, and feed me til I'm fit for bursting. Ooh also found 2 vouchers for £2.50 off a £10 spend on baby products at Boots, gonna hunt to see what I can get today, with the 3 for 2 on aswell, I could get alot of stuff. Although no more nappies, I need this drummed into meI swear I could probably cover 50% of the babies bums in NI I have bought so many.
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Squeak hated the chair on vibrate and the music on hers was so shrill!... my niece hated hers too..
Now I feel really sick.. OH still slobbed in bed
squeak up, fed and dressed
recycling out, dishwasher on and both washers partly stuffed.. I am going to clear the front room right now so I can start my christmas yummy food stash in the lockable cupboard!!! starting with 3 tins of sweets and a huge box of walkers crisps.. which I may well have scoffed by the end of the week! lol
After falling on my face yesterday I have chronic pain in my hips, my left knee is massive and my back hurts a little more too.. I think Dot may have decided breech is good as well... so that is getting some prodding today.. and my bump has all but disappeared.. you need a pic of this... I shall do that in a bit... it is seriously wierd.

I'll have a cuppa please!
Twin1 is in full on wind up mode this morning... we had a screaming wailing 'I can't find my shoes' hissy fit this morning worthy of a three year old, she is 7!
And guess what... they were exactly where the shoes are supposed to be! So she'd chosen shouting, foot stamping and tongue poking out at me when told she can't go out without shoes instead of just spending 2 minutes looking for them *sigh*Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Gilly, if your husband's from Armagh, there's a decent chance I may know his family, if not him- Armagh's really not that big....0
