I want to find out if I'm entitled to any benefits for the two months between my redundancy this Friday & my due date but I'm scared to ask on the benefits board in case I get flamed
The thing is I'm not going to actively be looking for work as I'm so knackered, want to relax & will be moving house. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks, C xx

I was 13stone 10 when I last braved the scales (gained 1 stone from booking).. I am refusing to even look at them until this one is 6 now! I am 28 weeks though so 1 stone isn't too horrific.. I guess...
I am trying desperately not to eat so much... I will happily trough through 4 cooked meals a day and I want meat... Keep your veg, fruit I don't much like anyway... I have been living on sausages and rice and fish fingers and mince and mash.. normally I have 1 meal a day and nothing else. My problem is the 3 sugars I have in my pint sized mugs of tea 1000 times a day.
I have half a sugar in tea.. My weakness is fizzy drinks! I don't drink many hot drinks at all. I think My OH would like you, he's a 1000 coffees a day person and I just don't think about putting the kettle on because I'm more of a cold drink person
Salad is good, I find as soon as I've eaten anything I feel full, it's all the rubbish I'm eating (cake, sausage rolls etc) that isn't helping.
Usually I eat quite a lot of fruit and salad, I've run out of a lot of stuff now, need to go shopping. I still have half a watermelon though!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I have diamante flip-flops, and my gold chinese silk dressing gown.
Very dressy for me, my usual wardrobe is functional- black jeans, biker jacket, vest top. The flipflops are actually the first things I've ever owned with diamante bits on them!

well i knew if i phoned for advice the hospital would want me in , ggrrr.
last night i was in alot of pain, no mor ethan normal tho. so i took my tablets and while sat i was a little bored and i read the leaflet that came with them . and it says do not take in pregnancy  grrr i'd just been given them.
anyway i thoguht i'd better just check with matrnity as if i can't can they offer anythign else.
After talking with them, they said they are ok to take but i really shouldn't take them every day as they can make the baby drowsy and sleeepy etc. and if i'm in pain and it isn't taking all the pain away then i should be seen.
i said no i'm fine. i don't want to come up. but they were insistant. as the babies movements had dropped and was getting alot of scar discomfort, plus back ache etc. i wasn't keen but after an hour i agreed to pop up.
2 hrs later they told me , all is fine ( which i knew) and that i really should try to avoid the tablets if i can. and my scar isn't red , but hard to say if it inflammed inside, so just take it easy. but i have to go back asap if the pain doesn't go, or if the movements get any less.
i said no your alright thanks i'll see you on the 17th. I hate hospitals, and it bad enough knowing i'm having to stay there the night of 17th and 18th. but i'm coming home friday no matter what.
so today i'm in agony as i'm not taking the tablets and i'm back on paracetamol which seem to be about as good as a chocolate tea pot.
but only a few days to go, so i can bear it. ( i hope, lol) as i'm not going back up there until i know i'm coming home with my baby :rotfl: plus hubby got big job on and he now working straight until the 13th aug, so the 17th fits in nicely, lol.
as for baby names, we have said were calling this one Bob, as were not thinking about it until he's here. for some reason everyone seems to think we should have made our minds up and that they have the winning name combo. when tbh i'm not listening to any of them. i doubt they will like the name choice anyway.
we have said once baby is here our children are gonna come into hospital first and meet baby and then were all gonna decide on the name together just the 5 of us. and were gonna spend some time together as the 6 of us once baby here in the side room.no other visitiors are allowed until 2pm on the ward , so going by previous sections i should hopefully be back on ward by 12 ish giving us some nice tiem together.
as for flip flops and towels. i had flip flops last time and they were brill, and a dark towel is fab. i don't like hospital showers so i have a bath and i take some nice bubble bath with me. i was told it not wise, but then i'm washing with soap so i don't see any difference, and the scar is covered up anyway by a dressing.i hate not feeling clean and hospitals always seems to make me feel unclean even directly after washing.0 -
My weakness is fizzy drinks too - but had to go to caffine free diet coke as it was giving me bad heart palpitations  I'm also wondering if it's some cause of Giblets low weight
(along with the stress I've had since day 1) I have fizzy diet orange today but wondering if I'd be better off on full-fat if anything. I do also drink a lot of cold water too.

I asked on the benefits section a while back- and got shot down for enquiring. I phoned the Tax Credits hotline, and after muzak for 20 mins, got through to a girl who knew less than I did! So I'm just going to fill out forms for everything- WTC, Child Benefits, Child Tax Credits.... I'll see what they accept.
Other benefits, I'm not sure, maybe CAB would help?0 -

Thank you, will try that outHubby does earn a decent wage so I'm probably not entitled to anything, but things are stretched with the baby/house purchase/move so I could certainly do with anything going!

Last year I would freeze a bottle of water and keep it by my bed at night - bingo - icy cold water for when I woke up with my mouth feeling like a miners armpit. Only works when the weather is warm though or you wake up and it's still frozen
That's nice about the name jcr. Couldn't do that here or the poor baby would end up being called 'Isabelle Jasmine Caitlyn' regardless of gender :rotfl: OH reckons he's got the names all worked out but I don't like his girl's name. If it comes down to it and the baby is a girl I'll refuse to go to the register office if he insists on that name, he can't take the baby and get the birth certificate without me :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

It seems like ages since I have posted, but have been reading all your news on my phone.
It's good to see that things are happening for so many of us, doesn't seem that long ago since I first read this thread and most of the people who were posting then have now had their babies!!
Regarding weight in pregnancy, I'm now 29+3 and am a stone lighter now than I was when I found out I was pregnant as I have had hyperemeisis throughout my pregnancy. The midwife is not worried though as I am measuring right for my dates and all my scans have shown flump is growing as he should he doing
I bought some little sleepsuits yesterday from George. Only £5 and the quality seems lovely
Good luck to the boldiesxxx
