EasyJet hand luggage AND hand bag?

I've read on the website that hand luggage is just one bag, which includes a ladies hand bag.
However, I flew last summer and remember having a handbag and my wheelie hand luggage sized bag and they didn't seem to mind.
Has anyone flown recently and can share experiences? I know its probably down to who you get at check-in and whether they can be bothered but some other stories might give me a clue to what they will say.
Me and my boyfriend are flying Gatwick to Marrakech hand luggage only. We were planning to take our small wheelie bags and then I would have my very very small satchel round my body and his small messenger bag for books etc so we don't have to keep opening our suitcases.
We will have space to put our satchels in our wheelie bags on the way there as we are planning to save space for shopping! Do you reckon they will care less on the flight back from Marrakech airport?
I guess it might just have to be a case of filling his pockets with everything in our bags if they don't let us :rotfl:

It seems to be a nice little money earner for them so yes I think they will care.
We did a ryanair flight to and from spain in april and they certainly 'cared' then0 -
I don't know about Marrakech but the Easyjet flights I have taken this year have been very strict about only 1 piece of hand luggage per person. On one flight some people tried to board with two pieces and were made to step out of the queue so that they could rearrange their belongings into a single bag each.0

You should always have enough room in your hand luggage to stuff your handbag in with Easyjet - I have been asked to do just that with Easyjet staff at the gate before boarding, and they stood and watched me do it, to make sure I could fit it all in.0

My mum flew out of Marrakech but not with easy jet at the weekend. She called to warn me (we are going in august) apparently after check in but before the gate they (easyjet and another airline not sure which) were weighing/measuring all hand luggage and making people pay an excess. She said it was all very heated but everyone was being checked.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -

I think that if Easyjet policy is '1 piece of cabin baggage, that's what you should plan to do.
Regardless of other people's personal experiences, you never know if the day & time you fly is going to be the one that they decide to enforce the rules.
Nothing wrong with having a separate bag outside your wheelie bag whilst you're walking around or sat in Departures - as long as you can manage to get it into your wheelie bags if someone asks you to do so.
I'm not sure what Easyjet policy is but I believe Ryanair (who are also pretty rigid about the '1 bag' rule) even insist that anything you've bought from Duty Free must go into your single bag.0 -

Oh yes, they caught a few out with that last time I flew, I suspect the airport shops are not particularly happy about it though.0 -
I'm sure l read recently on Easyjets site that you are able to take a small case and a laptop bag as hand luggage, but do you think l can find it now.
I find it shocking that Ryan air charge different rates for checked in luggage depending on what time of year it is. Recently when booking flights l avioded Ryan Air as they wanted £60 for checked in luggage, £30 each way, where as Easyjet it was just £29 both ways.0 -
On the plus side, Easyjet have the best hand luggage allowances of any of the budget airlines.
Easyjet: 1 bag 56cm x 45cm x25cm AND NO WEIGHT RESTRICTION
Jet2: 1 bag 56cm x 45cm x25cm and 10kg max weight
Ryanair: 1 bag 55cm x 40cm x20cm and 10kg max weight
This gives you quite a lot of scope if you can find an appropriately sized bag - do as I do and keep a tape measure in your handbag for when you spot a likely looking case. The Easyjet max bag size can give you a lot more capacity than the Ryanair dimensions - up to around 50% more. The 45cm measurement in particular is a goodie if you can find a bag near that.Hope is not a strategy.0 -
Looks like l was wrong about laptop bag etc..
Hand baggage – what goes in and what stays out?
Getting you off on time is hugely important to us at easyJet. Dealing with issues to do with customer's bags can be a cause of delay, so we want to be really clear about the rules in advance of you arriving at the airport.
You can take one piece of hand baggage into the cabin with you; maximum dimensions are 56 x 45 x 25cm. Hand bags, briefcases, laptops and laptop bags are all counted as one piece so if you have a hand bag and a laptop bag for example, you might want to consider putting one inside the other. Remember to plan your hand and hold baggage in advance though; if you bring too many items of hand baggage to the check-in desk, staff there will insist that they be booked into the hold; you’ll be charged £25 per item, as we will have higher handling costs if we register your hold bag only at the airport. If you checked in online and bypassed check-in and you arrive at the boarding gate with too many items of hand baggage, there’s a charge of £40 per item if we need to book them into the hold at this stage. We charge this high fee to avoid delays at the boarding gate and ensure a smooth boarding process.
Remember that you can stow hand baggage not just in the overhead lockers, but also under the seat in front. You can help us get away quicker and accommodate everyone’s hand baggage if you use the under-seat stowage for smaller hand baggage items.
And, even though it’s tempting, please don’t try to sneak two items past our gate crew: they’ll have to put one of them into the aircraft hold and charge you for it. It will delay yours and everyone else’s journey!
Liquids in hand baggage
There are a number of rules to remember about what to put in your hand baggage and what to leave at home. Importantly, the word “liquids” has a wider meaning than you would perhaps think in the first instance. For example: lip balm, lip sticks, hand creams, deodorant, and hair spray are all considered liquids in this context.
The rules:- The liquid is in a container with a maximum volume of 100ml
- All containers must comfortably fit into a transparent, re-sealable 1 litre plastic bag, measuring no more than 20 x 20cm
- This plastic bag must be removed from the hand baggage and shown separately to airport security
For the complete rules and regulations on hand and hold luggage, sporting equipment, musical instruments, and dangerous and prohibited items, please read the carrier’s regulations.
