Bitsy - do you live in my house? My boys were up before 6 this morning. By 6.50 DS1 had phoned my parents sparking a huge bout of worrying on their behalf. Then at 7.20 he dialed 999. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR After the police very kindly phoned back to check everything was OK I let fly - I hope he'll think twice before touching the phone ever again - even if it is in an emergancy! However, just in case I have spent some time this morning clearing out a cupboard and moving a phone. The kitchen will be blitzed this afternoon and the hall. Then when they get home I'll get them tidying their rooms! I'm considering taking them for a prearranged trip to the police station so that they can have a talking to from a police man. .......... Put the fear of god into them I hope.

On the plus side they are now in school so not my concern for a few hours!!!! I have eaten all the chocolate eggs I made for a friend for Easter (so no WW meeting for me this evening then!); and I have managed to find loads of books, bric a brac for the school fair. Anyone live near Junc 25 of the M1 - OH is working down there - and with DSs behaviour am seriously considering moving! Whats it like?

Hugs to those in need - and calming cups of tea to those (like me,) who have steam coming out of their ears!!!

Will the move involve Ds's too:rotfl:

    Hi All
Catznine - only thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were! I've not been posting regularly so may be I've just "missed" you.
Lovely day here everything still looking so fresh after Sunday's downpour. WM nearly done so will get that out soon.
Went to see Calendar Girls in Cambridge last night - I do love the theatre! It was brilliant - funny and moving at the same time. We have the film on DVD but haven't watched it for ages. Had to smile - after looking through the finances yesterday - last time we went to the theatre we had supper at young Mr Oliver's - last night it was MacD's!!!
DS arriving around lunchtime today. Has a meeting with a friend arranged for the w/e so I know how long he'll be staying.
New flooring today in upstairs bathroom and loo - surprised the chap isn't here yet. Really looking forward to having it done.
Need to get myself organised properly - meal-plans etc. Not sure what I'm waiting for!!
Anyhow, best get the washing out!
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!

    afternoon all,

belated thanks for all the kind thoughts yesterday....was having a MRI scan last night haven't heard since, not sure if thats good or bad but don't want to hassle them with texts so will wait and see.

Welcome newbies, you will like it here I'm.

NPM....think that whole of life is what you want, will be more expensive than term but worth it as it guarantees you cover for your whole life, premium will increase if you have any serious illness but the company will still cover you, premium may also have a built in cost of living increase....something like 5% annually in premium and cover....having got that all down not sure that it works that way in UK, so check it out carefully before you sign up to anything! Don't know when you made your will but AFAIK marriage negates any existing will so you may have to make a new one if it was made before you got married last year.

3 washes on linethis morning, its a lovely day and gather that normal weather (rain)returns to-morrow...have put 4 handwash only sweaters in a quick wash and am hoping that they will be ok....find it sooo difficult to get handwash sweaters back into shape so am trying this, hopefully I will ruin nothing!

Dinner to-night is a small roast of beef from freezer, with carrots, bok choi (HG) and some new potatoes, with some more of the chocolate cake....will portion it myself as OH did it last night and gave us the last of the ice-cream with a huge slice!

Trying to keep busy as need to lose some weight and get cholesterol down....going to see if I can do it without medication as want to avoid that if possible.

Have completely forgotten what everybody said, so congratulations, commiserations and hugs where appropriate.

    Have a nice day

Bitsy, DS struggles to tell me when he is ill too.....his behaviour goes off the scale and then you dont know he is ill until it is really bad...like when he had bilateral ear infections recently...we didnt know until his temp was sky high etc and his ears must have been killing him for days:eek:...he did tell school that he felt like there were worms in his ears tho apparently!
The not knowing how to be friends etc is a hard one.. DS has terrible difficulties understanding the whole social goings on and even things like someone bumping into him when they are going out of the door at breaktime upsets him as he insists they did it " by purpose" as he says:o
The PDA has added another dimension to that too.
I am waiting for 2 books to come in the hope I can help him
He worries about absolutely everything and gets himself in such a state...am hoping this can help
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0340903171/ref=oss_product

and this to help with his temper
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1433801345/ref=oss_product

I am still looking for a book to help him understand friendship etc..it is a bit of a tall order...teaching him social skills is hard as he just does not get it at all.

DS thinks by shouting orders at them they will all just dance to his tune. Am currently working on the premise that if you want people to play with you it's best to try playing their games first. I was told around 7 they tend to have a blip as peer groups etc tend to start forming, hope we're not reaching that stage already. DS wants to be friends and have friends just lacks the capacity to do what we neuro-typical peeps instinctively know.
Good luck with teaching Noah......just be persistant......it must be so hard as he's the one having to do all the "changing" to fit in whereas others ought to make a bit more of an allowance for him. Not likely with kids of his age though <sigh>
Oh and I dont like Robbie Williams either...hate his smug arrogant face he always does:mad:....it needs a good slap

    I think I luf you :T:T:T

Oi you leave lovely Mr Barlow alone......he's a sweetie :o And quite frankly the only one with any songwriting talent. Poor old Robbie hasn't done quite so well without Mr Chambers has he :rotfl:

  • Bitsy....it is also because the older they get the more the distance between them grows. DS wants to be in control of the other kids too:o. They put up with him and like him but dont know how to play with him as he has such an odd way of "playing".
Is your DS controlling too then? It could just be his ASD and being in control means no surprises etc but have you looked at PDA? I poo pooed the idea at first but once I read into it I could see clearly what a lot of his behaviour was about.
The woman has been from council....bit of a waste of time as like many of these things it is a questionaire with definate answers and what do you do if DS doesnt fit any of them? eg can he write sentances, 3 word phrases or just single words? Well he can write sentances but you would not be able to read it.....oh I`ll tick the box for just single words then .....well no because even when he writes single words it is hard to read it....so she was very confused at where to put it.
Also....does he hit himself, daily, weekly or less than that:mad:...it is bloody impossible to do a form like that for disabled kids with behaviour problems....needs to be open ended questions so it can be answered to suit each individual child.
