Tired due to kids being up far too early. DD came to see us at 4.30 and both the kids were up and at 'em around 5.30am. I am cream crackered but got up with the kids to give H a lie in, poor bloke is the only one in his little team today and is already run ragged so needs all the sleep he can get.
Think am planning on a sewing session with my mum this morning, want to make a dress for DD although quite frankly how I feel at the moment I just ain't in the mood
Not sure what's for tea, need to check the planner.
Bargainbird - did you make the fish cakes last night? I forgot to mention after grating the spuds you need to squeeze out as much of the excess liquid as possible from them otherwise it ends up being a bit too wet and soggy. I also cook off the onion and peppers first.
uuuuum no we went for kebabs
JackieO - Sorry I don't share your love of Robbie. I think he's a :silenced: <enter put down of your choice>

Gorgeous here today. Had a rubbish sleep again. We've all been awake since 4am as the dog woke us up yelping, having got his leg caught under DS bed. He's so big I had to lift the bed off him and we've all been awake since then.
Rolls eyes @ dog :rotfl:
Plan today to walk the dog to school and then go to the park. Need to do a shop for fruit and veg. Just read on the news about people on lower incomes experiencing more inflation. I worked out the other day that my income has only gone up by about £200 over the past 11 years and all that has gone on higher food, fuel and living costs.
Have got work tonight so will have to get my head down at some point. Off to trawl through the freezer.
Big hugs to all who need one today. Have a good day all.

Busy day today, school run and have to deposit my takings at post office from my weight watchers meeting last night. Then shopping and investments to be made in cooking/baking hardware - yay :-) I have two new obsessions in the last few weeks - 1) wearing my ww oedometer, walking loads and going on wii step a zillion times a day to get the step count up and 2) is now my OS moneysaving and cooking. I never used to cook as I was always dissapointed with the results and that my own cooking doesn't look shop bought, now realise that is the beauty of homemade and it really does taste great, especially HM yorkshire pudsHad a long realisation that you can really cook anything, sounds silly but despite a GCSE in food tech
I'd never considered making things from scratch and I really thought it was MORE expensive!
We have just abut worked our way through the convenience food with the help of a menu planner and now everything that is left is moving from my chest freezer to my upright freezer so that my chest freezer can become my 'HM' supply and the upright is for unplanned/last minute/desperate times! Quite looking forward to doing this!
Well time to start the days routine of breakfast and all round hecticnessget to wear my summer dress for the 2nd time since I bought it in April(!):T xx

Morning all!!
Lovely sunny day today! OH got paid last nightso need to put his cheque in the bank, they seem to clear within 2 days at the moment, which is great, as we need food! We've barely anything in the house. Dinner tonight is some marinated chicken, I'm going to have mine with veggies and OH can have chips or rice.
Need to clean the kitchen (again!) and meal plan for the rest of the month.
Lunch - i think a sausage roll, but it's not v. healthy, so might swap it later.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Morning everyone
Dry bright and sunny here this morning. Washing out on the line. DH up and off to work but not at stupid early o'clock.
Dinner last night was tasty gammon steaks, new pots, egg, onion sauce, gammon cooked just right so was lovely. Menfolk had haircuts last night, so dinner was a little later so whilst they were having haircuts I used time to prep the dinner, make the pack-ups, unload DW and re-pack - so just was waiting for the last few "dirty's" before setting it to come on in the night.
Tonight will be the usual quickie tea as DS1 has Cadets and DH not sure what time he will be home. Will put another load in WM in a mo, forecast not so good for tomorrow but can always put it on airer inside if needed. Work not very busy at all for a Monday, so hoping today not too bad either.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Lovely day so one load in the WM and another ready to go.

DS has a free day today so I will get him to weed and mow the garden for me, instead of him sitting on his computer all day.
Well I am off to have a shower will pop back later
((((((Hugs)))))) to all who need one xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning all
Hope the sun is shining as beautifully for everyone else as it is for me
Today I will be mostly washing, with a side order of washing, and probably some washing for dessert as well.
Had a surprise windfall from the tax credits people yesterday, having been apparently underpaid for all of last year :j:j:j - I was convinced the extra payments were a mistake, so spent most of the morning yesterday trying to get them to check it all out, very pleased to find that the money is ours:j:j:j - a nice little addition to the savings pot for things we'll need to do to the new house.0 -

It's Take That day :j:j:j:j:j:j:j Can you tell I'm rather excited?! :rotfl:I'm not the biggest Robbie fan myself, but think the whole show will be excellent.
Absolutely glorious morning here, hope it stays.
Plan for my morning is to have quick tidy/clean/hoover of flat as I have a letting agent inspection at 11.30. I was going to refuse the inspection cos I'm moving out in 2 months so not much point, but I want them to see the damage caused by their handymen on the floor and bathroom so worth them coming. Flat is relatively ok so will only take half hour or so to sort it.
Then I'm going to meet my flakey friend at hers and we are heading up to Cardiff., she is driving. We are going to have a nice lunch in Cardiff Bay, then head into town to soak up the atmosphere before the gig.
OS wise - tidy/clean/hoover, WM on with a wash so so will go out on balcony, need to put ydays laundry away, HM bread sliced and frozen.Strawberries this year are delicious so I will eat as many as I can before my weak allergy to them kicks in.
I have a slight allergy to pineapple. Sometimes I can eat it fine no problems, but other times it makes my mouth tingly and swell a little. It did that lat night! And I still have 2/3rds of the pineapple left. Doesn't stop me eating it though :rotfl:.
Have a great day all

Hello everyone! This is my first post on one of these threads: I love reading the OS board
Today I'm going to the doctor's in the morning and then out to find a birthday present for my friend - she likes baking so I'm going to scour the charity shops for a cookbook. Then I have to come home and pack up because I'm going to live on my brother's floor for a month for an internship! I'll have to leave the house fairly tidy as I'm leaving DP alone in it (he gets confused by cleaning, the poor thing), and his brother is coming to stay in our spare room. It's sibling month this summer I think.
Later I'm going to use up the milk that's on the turn for some cheese sauce for our dinner and watch something on iPlayer.0
