Hi Everyone,
New to this so bear with me. Been reading all your suggestions and will be getting some stardrops once I've used other stuff.
Wanted to say how to avoid cleaning the tops of kitchen cupboards - lay old newspaper on top of the cupboards and when it's grotty throw it away and put clean piece up there - No more cleaning:-)
Better still use all your old junk mail ha ha0 -
Count me in on this thread. I'm trying to cut back generally and have more than enough cleaning products in the house to keep me going for quite a long time. Once they are all gone I'd like to start being more Eco friendly so the advice on using vinegar etc . Sounds great. But I do remember using stardrops 30+ years ago. I didn't realise it still was around. I remeber that it was brilliant at getting rid of food stains from my son's clothes when he was a baby.
So today is my start date let's see how long i can go before spending anything on cleaning stuff.:AWonderfulLife:A0 -

I actually had a look in my cupboard under the sink last night when I was looking for something. It's not as bad as I thought initially. I do need to use some of the leather cleaner on the couch. It will start to use that up at least. We've had it since we got the sofa 9 years ago !Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0

I went shopping on Tuesday and managed not to buy any cleaning products or kitchen roll (except a bag of soda crystals) - felt really wierd going up & down the aisles not getting washing up liquid!
Trying to make sure I only use a little bit of washing up liquid each time I wash up...
I've been using vinegar in the washing machine for a while when doing elder son's clothes as his eczema doesn't like fabric conditioner, and I noticed when ironing younger son's cotton polo shirts that I could smell vinegar again for a bit, but it wen when they cooled down.0 -

Ah, bless her, it really makes life miserable at times, especially in the hot weather! We ended up seeing the dermatology nurse about DS1s, as it wasn't clearing up with what he had from the GP. She was fantastic, had samples of the different stuff she could prescribe so he could choose the creams he found best (some were too greasy for his liking, others he didn't like the smell of etc) as well as giving good management advice.0 -
I simply couldn't resist a couple of bargains in the CSs today. Four Hoover bags and a filter kit - priced at around £13 at the local rip-off electric shop and a fantastic 50p in the CS. I nearly always manage to buy hoover bags this way and it saves me ££££s over the year. Also got a 3 pack of dishwasher fresheners for 49p. They are supposed to last 6 weeks each, so even cheaper than using half a lemon a week.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14
