Have just used up a bottle of stardrops and a bar of soap making up the next bottle of laundry gloop. The borax and the soda are going down too. I added a little lavender oil but I can't smell it in the first load I've used it in. I'll have to see because it's expensive to buy and if you can't smell it, I see little point adding it. I am finally getting towards the end of the weekend away washing but really need to wash all the bedding. The weather's too bad though so I don't know what I'm going to get done. I wish it would stop raining on my washing!

Try adding some into your laundry gloop. It's suppose to be 10 drops per 100ml of anything :rotfl: You could also (if applicable) put some lavender or grapefruit EO onto a clean dry cloth and pop it into the tumble dryer for lovely smelling clothes (And house) And it's antibacterial too:T
You can also put some onto a tissue (or old pair of skants :rotfl:) and put them in your undies drawer for lovely smelling undies :rotfl: (or clothes)

And you could try mixing the lavender with some bicarb. Just as much as you personally think it needs and mix so it's still powdery not like paste. and shake onto your carpets. leave for 10-30 minutes and hoover for MS shake and vac :rotfl::rotfl:

    OR

another method is to do the same above AND try to get some dried lavender, its really cheap) putting it into an old voile, cotton or bit of tea towel (can close with an old bobble or elastic band) and put it into a tupperwear box of bicarb. It will be absorbed by the bicarb so smell really lavender-y. You can also use these mixes for cleaning sinks, baths and loo's :T

Just thought i'd add my suggestions lovelies :j

I've already added it ;) and I use it everywhere already hence the reason I don't want to waste it in my laundry gloop if I can't smell it :D. I love lavender :D

Being a good follower of the Flylady, I have window cleaner in my bathrooms & kitchen & use it for loads of cleaning... But one of my bottles is nearly empty! Help me resist buying another one ;-)

Has anyone got any suggestions for a mix I can make up & keep in the spray bottle for cleaning? The one that's almost empty is in the downstairs loo where the cat's litter tray also lives...

Spiky, how about a mix of water, white vinegar and some essential oils? You can add in a little drop of anything to make it smell nice so use whatever you have. The vinegar will deodorise and kill bugs and depending what oils you use, you will boost your bug killing properties too :)

Washing up liquid and water should work well for multi-purpose cleaner? That's pretty much all that is in the ready made stuff, water and detergent.

I haven't found Stardrops yet so can't try that out... I checked on the empty bottle & the commercial stuff had vinegar in, so I felt safe in filling it up with a mix! Measured in 2 tablespoons of vinegar, a drop of washing up liquid, 5 drops each of lavendar & geranium oils & topped up with water - works well & smells lovely!

    Thanks all!

Just flicking through the kleeneze catalogue & their window cleaner spray is exactly the same colour as mine with malt vinegar!
