OK. Thanks a lot. I'll be working my way through it shortly. The thing is, I couldn't see a header bar which told me which section of the site, or which forum I was in and which would therefore allow me to find my own way back there. My navigational route to it is therefore:-
Open this week's Money Tips email
scroll down to the winner of the month link
pick this thread
wander down this thread and pick your post
which puts me in the A-Z...
So tell me... how did *you* navigate there?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. If you look above this thread it says MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > MoneySaving And The Site > Most Popular Posts > etc.
This shows where you are on the board.
To get to A-Z :
MoneySavingExpert.com Forums /This Site: Questions & Suggestions/A-Z (which is a sticky at the top of the board).Torgwen.....................

Er, nope. I've got MoneySavingExpert.com Forums in the title bar of my broswer and that's all. The address bar shows a search result gobbledygook address.

I have now. It's very intuitive isn't it?
Click on "Chat Forums" on the menu bar.
Scroll down to the section entitled "Money Saving & the site"
Look at "Most Popular Posts"
Check the _small_ print there for "post of the month" and...
BINGO - there is the thread for post of the month - March.
I don't know how I could have missed it. Aha! Ignore my last! Got it thanks!
But BLOW me! That's the _least_ identifiable navigation bar I've ever seen!

Heh! ;-)
The things that really stumped me were my inability to recognise the er, navigation box thingy, for what it was; and then the fact that in "Forums" I expected to find the post of the month as a Major heading [since it is so much in evidence in the newsletter] and not in the small print as a subheading in a subsection that is in a main section that doesn't even have the word "posts" in its title: as in - Money Saving and the Site.
It wasn't until I read every darn word of several pages of forums listings that I finally found it...
Even so, that just gives me the nomination thread. The ACTUAL winning thread is in Home Work and Play somewhere and there's no way on god's green earth that I'd have found a shopping challenge in there without help [thanks tiff] because there was no link in the notification post.
I'm trying to get across to people the point that this forum is *huge* and so when people talk of a post buried in some other thread or chat they should _reference_ it when doing so.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Glad you got there in the end though.
And my eyes too!
There's a number in my address bar that suggests I'm making post number 426,797...
If that's right - how the heck can *anybody* find anything in here with any great ease?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
