I love mermaid tins too. they are great on the hob for gravy making!
  • Mermaid for me too. Great for roasting all sorts of veg in.

However I also use the pans from my Remoska as roasting tins if I've got the big oven on anyway, and they work very well too.

Tk Max often have bits and pieces of Le Cruedet at reasonable prices.
I was given Stellar pots for a wedding present and they still look as good as new.
I also managed to pick up some Stellar baking trays/roasting tray in TK Max for about £10 each. they have been great.

I went in TKMax on Saturday & I got a fantastic large cooks knife by Stellar, reduced from £24 to £6:j
  • I too am a fan of mermaid trays, they don't buckle or warp and seem made to last - I have never been disappointed with them.
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

I wouldn't give Le Creuset house room. For those that would, the Ellesmere Port outlet cheshire oaks has a le creuset shop. My parents wanted a lasagne dish and got about 30% off. or rather I did as they are having it for Christmas.

I had a casserole and 2 frying pans for wedding presents. Also inherited a casserole from my gran.

I much prefer my SKK titanium. It has another name now....erm.... Pro Cook. Fabulous stuff. Not good for just boiling a bit of pasta or potatoes, but for other stuff is marvellous and it goes into the oven handles and all! I have 'cauldron', large deep saute pan with lid, frying pan and 2 saucepans so far.

I have replaced this with a cheap (but looks quite good quality) baking tray from Lidl this afternoon..

BTW, for anyone thinking of buying the Lidl baking trays... they are MASSIVE. Just tried to put them in my oven to bake bread rolls and it won't fit

So, if money was no object? I'd buy a new oven to fit my new baking tray...

I'm just wondering what (for a bit of fun) what everyone would buy if money were no object, I didn't say I was buying them:rolleyes:

I'll add this to the exisitng thread so that people can read other recomendations.

I've just rather stupidly bought two Analon baking trays off Amazon and never noticed how huge the handle bits were.
They won't fit in my oven and it's quite wide too.
I think these must have been made for an Aga or something.
Anyone got any ideas what I can do with these.
Would they be ok to use as a griddle on the gas hob,to make scones or pancakes.
    They are quite thick.
    I'll be measuring in future.
