Our roasting trays have gone rusty and just generally not in good nick. They were fairly cheap ones and i would like to get some quality ones now. What is the best roasting tray to get?
Thanks

Hello mercury, from sunday Aldi is selling an oval roasting dish for 9.99 will try to get my mits on one too. Its handy as you can use the lid as a separate roasting dish. I have a huge tower dish with a tray for big roasts but depends on what you will use them for. Sometimes a lot easier to deal with x2 smaller dishes as one can be for veg or one for pots if you see what I mean?0

Robert Dyas handout advertises a twinpack of non-stick roasters for £9.99 or a Tefal twin-handled roaster for the same price.0

If you buy enamel oven trays they will last for years. They are easy to clean and won't rust. Bit more expensive than the normal run of the mill trays but well worth the initial outlay. You certainly won't be replacing them in a couple of years.0

 i agree, enamel tins are really great, but buy nice heavy ones.

I saws the aldi ones on their website but was unsure how good they were? I did hear the enamel ones were better, any idea how much i should expect to pay?
Which type of tin is better also please, non stick or hard anodised. I generally don't like non stick as it limits the utensils you can use but what are your opinions?
We use them just about everytime we cook! Roast every sunday, oven chips occasionally!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
They have quite a good selection of enamel ones in Wilkinson. Price depends on the size/type of tray you buy. Probably start from about £5 or £6 for a small dish type, been a while since I bought one as they never seem to need replacing.0

I used cheap tins and trays until about 10 years ago, when I invested in Mermaid, and they are still going strong, so they're not a bad financial deal, if you add up all the cheap replacements over the years.
I shall have to look out for them at TK Maxx - I got mine from Cucina.0 -
Hi, I agree with Wendy. To celebrate a new job 2 years ago, I treated my self to a set of Mermaid trays from Lakeland, and they're used loads, and still as good as new.

I agree. Mermaid are wonderful and even better if you can pick them up from T K Maxx for less than half price.
You can put them on the hob to keep the fat hot whilst adding the roast potatoes or making the gravy.
Worth every penny.0 -
