I agree about Mermaid products being fab. I have one Mermaid roaster that I got free with a Good Food magazine subscription a couple of months ago. I was holding out for a good offer to appear before I subscribed and it was worth it!
I am now lusting after moreKeeping an eye out on eBay but no sign, I guess they are so good that no one sells them off.

I got the one from aldi today seems good, its bigger than i thought also. I'm still after a roasting pan though. Went into tk maxx but they didn't have any enamel bakeware at all. I also went to a cookshop for some memaid tins, none of them. They also never had any enamel tins at all! Quite tricky to find any, probably have to be online.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I have just bought a lovely roasting tin and trivet in Costco. It is heavy gauge stainless steel 18/10 and cost about £12 with vat.Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Have to agree with Mermaid ones, far better than my other cheaper ones were. I got my first one from Lakeland and the others from TKMaxx - one thing you should check though is that if you get them from there that they are not warped ( I sat the dishes on the floor and wiggled them about to be sure ) - a few in TKMaxx seem to be there because of this as they were definitely a little buckled. Don't let this put you off though, most are fine and I wouldn't buy anything else now.0

Hello everyone
Been a lurker here for many years and what a wonderful place this is. Just wondering if anyone can help on this one.
Has anyone any experience of using either Mermaid or Silverwood roasting tins/baking sheets? I really need to replace my cheap (wilkinson) ones. Fed up of them not lasting tbh - no matter how well you try to clean them. I think good old Delia recommends the Mermaid ones but they are so expensive. Are they really worth the money? How long do they last looking good?
Or any others you can recommend.
Hope you can help.
Thanks so much.0 -
I've gone over to silicone ones which are so much easier to clean.0

Hi, Louby! I treated myself to the Mermaid ones when I got my current job 3 years ago (special offer in Lakeland). They're used regularly, and are still in perfect condition.
I have a Rayburn, so need dishes that stay flat, and don't buckle, to ensure good conductivity on the hob - no problems there.

I have a couple of silverwood cake tins and they are marvellous. Worth every penny. I haven't tried the baking sheets though as I use a set of ceramic roasting dishes that my OH bought.I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0

No experience of the ones you mentioned but I buy the black enamel ones from Morrison which at around £5 for a baking sheet is reasonable and they last fairly well.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
