I have car insurance with Tesco and it was a very easy straightforward process. They never asked if I was Bankrupt. Should I check the policy documents more closely?
Also when I phoned them about home contents, they asked me "if anyone in the household has EVER been declared BR" of which I answered yes and they refused to offer me anything.0 -

Hi Jesca, I would if I was you. Fingers crossed BR is not mentioned in T&C.
Best wishes

I have my house insurance with the Co-op and they didnt ask if I had been br. I was broken into just after the new year and I was really worried I wouldnt get a pay out, loss adjuster came, very nice lady, I cant remember the name of the company but I can find it if anybody wants to know, she asked if anyone in the household had been BR I was honest said yes, both me and my hubby, she asked how long ago, Feb 10 discharged Jul 10. She said it wasnt a problem and would advise co-op to pay out0

Hi
My son was declared bankrupt in April and is staying with me. Just checked my building and contants insurance with Direct Line and they said it made no difference to the policy or renewal at all.0 -

Hi All,
Just wanted to let everyone know my experience. My current insurer Key Connect are messing around providing me with a renewal quote. Advised went BR during the current years insurance and they were fine with it, now its renewal time its a different story. Anyway, I went online to get some quotes and as recommended on here tried Co Op Insurance, got a really competitve price. I called their Cusatomer Services dept to check it was ok with BR and I was advised that if it is done with the internet no credit check takes place and therefore the BR will not show up, he confirmed that if I was to make a claim because I had advised them there would be no problems. I believe that isn't the case if you call them for a quote though.
Thumbs up for Co Op!0
