Sorry to put a happy note to this thread but this has to be the best news ive ever heard!! I HATE olan mills. We had 3 pics left on our plan soooo glad they have gone now!! Ive lost £15....SO WHAT!! Totally worth it to see Olan Mills go into administration.

Maybe this explains why they have phoned me 3 times in the last week trying to get my to buy a plan. Shady little punks.

I am myself a photographer and not even i am happy to see this happen.
Not only will people loose thier jobs and NOT be paid for what they have done but all the people that have bought olan mills packages for christmas now are out of pocket and still have to buy more gifts.
Olan Mills was a photography institution and like all major companied they upset thier fair share of customers but you cant please all the people all of the time. Unfortunatly they did decline as the years went on but they still managed to please many customers.
I think ypu have ported a rediculous staement here and it is very unthoughtfull.

!!!!!!!! just gave them £200 on Monday.......debit visa straight out of the bank
it might be worth trying to claim anyway - I rthink some of the farepak people paid with debit card and still managed to get their money back

Bit upset about this as I've had bargain photo's from them for the last 12 years - they were like part of the family as the photographer has seen my 3 grow up! Guess I won't see the end of my plan then...

Hope everyone who ordered recently gets their Christmas pic's - and big hugs to all the staff. :grouphug: Not good news just before Christmas.

Olan Mills in Lincoln have been wonderful, always friendly and glad to help, such a shame they have gone bust

We are on our 2nd watch me grow plan and already had 2 photos so only miss out on 2 only about £10 lost.

Such a shame for the staff

My thoughts go out to the employees - a company i worked for inhouse went bust before christmas last year and it took ages for the staff to get some money - always is awful for the staff (and customers) especially at christmas.

    On a personal note:-

OH NO..... i just bought some vouchers for there for xmas presents our local nursery was selling them for a fund raiser. It was only £15 worth but still feels like money down the drain plus i will need to replace two xmas presents.

  • The staff at the Preston store were wonderful today! They had been told to just put up a notice and then lock up and leave.

Instead of doing this they stayed there for the whole day knowing full well they wouldnt get paid for it, and they then rang everyone who had photos at the studio waiting for collection and told then to collect them today or never.

Thanks to them I got my photographs!

My kids used to love going for their photo taken there and the results I have had for the last couple of years have been really great!

I wish the staff the best of luck!!
