.
Well it is the sales, Woolies make such a song and dance about slashing the prices etc etc. I only believed the advertising.

Ok thanks for the help guys on the Watchdog complaint. Don't forget to add that it clearly says "massive reductions on TVs, up to £800" so while it was a fab price, it was still feasible too!0

pin wrote:Complaint about what? It was a clear misprice and both their T&C's and the law is pretty clear on this.
Why do you say this a clear misprice? On the front page it has a big advert saying save up to £800 on lcds. The tellys are priced as "Now" £***
implying that they have been reduced.Woolworths is such a rubbish site, everything I have every ordered from there I've had to chase up so I have filled in the watchdog form and lets hope it makes them get their act together.0 -
Just type up "Woolworths profit drop" in to any search engine and you'll get something similar to the following:
"Woolworths Profit May Miss Estimates After Sales Drop (Update3)
Woolworths Group Plc, a U.K. retailer of goods ranging from toys to DVDs, said it may miss analysts' profit estimates after sales declined in October and November.
The shares slumped the most in almost a year. Revenue at stores open at least a year fell 6.5 percent in the 18 weeks ended Dec. 2, London-based Woolworths said in a statement, with prices for music and DVDs ``materially lower'' than last year.
A survey today from the British Retail Consortium showed U.K. retail sales rose at the slowest pace in nine months in November. Woolworths, which historically makes all its profit in the second fiscal half, said it needs rising revenue this month to meet the low end of analysts' full-year profit estimates.
``The final outcome for the full-year is uncertain, with three key Christmas weeks still to come, but a return to a positive second-half like-for-like run-rate is in our view unlikely,'' Gillian Hilditch, an analyst at JPMorgan Cazenove in London, said in a note. She rates the stock ``underperform.''
Shares of Woolworths slid 2.75 pence, or 7.5 percent, to 34 pence, the biggest drop since Jan. 18. Shares of rival HMV Group Plc, which operates music stores and Waterstone's bookshops, declined 4.1 percent to 164 pence."

Looks like this whole thing was just a scam to get people to sign up to the site and get some free publicity.0 -

Lost_Prophet wrote:The girlfriend works in town so I got her to pop in to Woolies and ask if they have any instock. They did so while she was in the store I ordered online and chose instore delivery. Got an e-mail confirmation within a few minutes. She took the number to customer services and now has the telly paid for and in their stockroom waiting for me to collect it this afternoon.
All you need is a bit of smart thinking guys and you can find yourself a loophole.
did you collect it?0 -
It doesn't matter a damn whether customers think it's a missprice or not if the retailer says it's a missprice, its a missprice.
As to poor customer service, lot's of companies have poor service but still manage to make profits. It's no surprise if a company whose web site just collapsed at the height of the christmas run up because some herbet on the web development team screwed up gives callers complaining about why they have been "conned" short shrift.Joe
As through this life you travel,
you meet some funny men

did anyone else get a message from their customer service line saying that due to an emergency the offices had been evacuated and there was no one to answer the calls?0
-
I order at 10:38..
and now it's cancelled..reason..
"You have cancelled this order"..
I've sent them a "message" saying I haven't..see what happens, as I said much earlier in this Thread..This is another publicity generating scam.0
