and thats abuse of the system,

oh and dont think you will get away with it as either they will catch you or do something about the re using own bag option

I read on one employment problem forum that staff at supermarkets have been sacked for abousing such point systems like this.

They are if you have a few items but if have more than 10 or if you have veg or fruit it just does not work properly.

Tell them to shut the hell up commenting on your shopping. I'd wager that you'd only have to do it the once and they'd stop.

This would only work if I was always served by the same shop assistant!

Okey doke. Let checkout staff intimidate you into using the self-service if you wish. Makes no difference to me. :)

Yes but your idea was stupid, being rude to one shop assistant is not going to stop every shop assistant in the country from commenting on my shopping!

Besides they don't intimidate me, I just personally don't like to discuss my shopping with complete strangers and the self service counters are far easier to use!

there was a poster on here who was apparently sacked for abusing the points per bag system and ive witnessed 2 young girls get caught and arressted and sacked for collecting nectar points where the customer didnt have or forgot the nectar card but not really worth it as you need to collect alot for it to be worthwhile

I was in morrisons last night I went through the self check but when I put my 20 pound note in it locked up the screen and the till. 30 mins later after arguing with the supervisor about my change they said to come back tomorrow when the checkout would be sorted. Can they do this is it legal for them not to give you your change or not.

    Please help anybody !!!!

Legally they don't have to give you change at all if you don't have the right money.

In reality there's very few places who wouldn't though.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say that 'every shop assistant in the country' or even a small percentage of them actually comment on your shopping.

As I said, if they do, tell them not to. Simple solution rather than avoiding manned checkouts because you're worried about them commenting on what you've purchased, thereby indirectly paying their wages.
