hi, just found your diary. I recently negotiated a reduced cost for my HD cos i told Sky that i wasn't bothered about it. Saves me £7 per month for 6 months, then i'll cancel it.

good luck for your journey, we'll be here with you, and you can rant however much you want, it's your thread!

Hi Hubby only made £53 from the car boot but thats better than nothing as he had already done about £300 this year so only left with bits and bobs now.
My potatoes are ready now just had a lovely roast dinner with all homegrown veg (peas spuds and carrots) also more than enough salad for DHs sandwitches for most of the summer fingers crossed. :)

    well done ! :T

I just am not inclined to my garden so growing my own veg will probably just add to my misery, lol. But I would like to grow my own veg, being self sufficient would definitely be good for my budget.

You should give it a go even if just a few items in pots as there is nothing like eating your own veg ! I had about 30 plus cucumbers last year from just two plants which cost about £3 or less for both from carboot. Even had a fiver couple of weeks ago when DH carbooted some rubarb :rotfl:

we've got some veggies growing in pots, we've mixed them in with flowers so we get the best of both worlds.

Lovely to see you on my thread.

You will get there, and the situation will sink in with both yourself and your OH over stages, as you go along you'll come to different realisations. The times i've said to myself 'duh' why didn't you think of that???? One of my easiest changes that made a difference was moving my standing orders and DD's on my overdrawn account to the days before payday if possible, this saved me being at the limit of my overdraft for most of the month and the resulting interest. It's all the little things which really help and which keep you going.

Yippee Payday this week. Managed to stay within the overdraft even after paying for the insurance on DHs new car which I have to add to our debt so glad we got it as been raining so badley we would have been soaked these past few days ! Would not have minded though if had been reducing the debt but my car is so bad on fuel was not really saving anything. DH has had another 0% balance transfer come through so going to transfer the tesco card tonight hopefully he does.
Thanks for the tip Lemon tree may look into doing that as think we are other way round where everything comes out about a week after.

Managed to get DH to sit done last night and have a chat also he has agreed not to put anything on the credit card. Unfortunately think until we are not paying childcare we shall just be paying of our debt slowly at least we shall be moving in the right direction. We are through the most expensive part as we have too wee toddlers and shall not be having anymore, also we have done lots of work to our house over the years so hopefully not much else to be done well apart from gereral maintance and the bathroom but more than happy to wait. Also last year we had a few weddings to go to, two of which we had our kids and had to stay in posh hotels makes me laugh as both the couples where short on money but choose expensive hotels !
