  • Yay congratulations!

I put a couple of engagement-style rings on my Amazon wishlist as hints, ha ha - I know OH is looking at that for Christmas ideas!

  • Ahh wow love this thread haha!

My OH sometimes talks about it, which makes me want to talk about it more and more, which leads to him telling me to stop talking about it otherwise it wouldn't happen (in a jokey way)!! We don't really have enough money to spare for rings or weddings for a while yet, even though we have been together for 7 years in December.

After that, I played him the Beyonce 'Should've put a ring on it' song for a laugh, and he gave me an evil stare haha!! He didn't find it as amusing as i did!

Congrats to everyone that has been proposed to! Very jealous ;)
  • After i wrote my last post on 10th september on 31st October my BF proposed to me!!
He got me a gorgeous amethyst and diamond white gold ring, we had a great night out by going to the place we had our first date then we went bowling, when we got home he gave me the i love you speech and then got down on one knee and brought out the ring!!!
So in the last 2 weeks, just, i've been getting wedding planners, already decided on my colour theme and spent about £50 on wedding magazines!! It felt like an eternity waiting and it was incredibly frustrating and at times upsetting - when the day comes ladies it will feel worth it! xx
  • Hello everyone!

Congratulations to all of you who have become engaged recently. I have read the thread from beginning to end tonight and decided to create a new user name so I could post without my boyfriend realising it was me!

We've been together almost 4 years now and living togther for 2 years, although we had a rocky patch about a year ago. I know I want to be with him forever and (now) he wants the same thing. I find it is upsetting when couples who've been together less time than us get engaged and even married.. He knows I want to be married before having children (as does he) and yet regularly says things like 'Shall we have start trying for a baby early next year?'. I find this so frustrating! Recently I've been getting very hopeful that he'll propose on my birthday in a few weeks as we're going away for a weekend in a lovely hotel but I just know I'll be sooo upset if it doesn't happen then that I know I'll need some support and thought you guys on here might be good for that!

Anyway, enough of a ramble, hope we all get the proposal we want soon x
  • Aww good luck Stormy - if it does happen we'll give congrats, and if it doesn't we'll listen to grumbles haha!

  • Thanks HBS. It took me ages to read through this whole thread but I could relate to so much of it. Been (stupidly) looking at wedding venues and I will be absolutely gutted if it doesn't happen on my birthday after all the hints he's given me!
How are things looking for you?
  • He's oblivious! Enough said haha!

  • Well I looked at my small pile of presents and none of them are the right size! I think I got my hopes up too early. If it doesn't happen on my birthday then I will probably just ask him when he's thinking we should get married.. Least then I'd know! Think he's pretty oblivious too HBS!
  • Aaah but we love them anyway.

I got a Kindle for Christmas last year and a netbook for my birthday. Both of these are awesome, but I've banned him from gadgets this year and he's lost!

I think I'm really scared someone's going to steal him from me. I just want him to be mine forever.

  • Aw bless you HBS!

Your last line just sounds exactly how I [STRIKE]feel[/STRIKE] felt! :o
To be honest, that fear of mine was due to me and my own insecurities and lack of self confidence, rather than anything to do with him (or any gorgeous looking girl out there!!)
