We spoke about 12/12/12 as a wedding day when we first got together as my birthday is 10/10 and 10/10/10 was 2 months after we got together! xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0

Aww that would be lovely rdchick. 10.10 is a fab birth date
Unfortunately for us 21.12.21 would be a more realistic target haha!0 -
hahaha don't joke! That will be how long I will be waiting I am sure of it! would be a lovely christmassy wedding though! 1010 is a great birthday means no one forgets and my birth year is the same number twice too (as in 88 not 1919 however I feel like I was born in 1919!) xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0

Thank you for all the welcomes
I will definitely drop hints and make sure we're on the same page, here is hoping I don't come home disappointed! I have a good feeling about it this time though-I feel like the time is right for us. I am almost 26, he is 29-surely I have waited patiently enough all these years?! I just want to be able to go through an evening without having to flick down my laptop quickly or delete my tab because I am looking at wedding ideas! (we have all done that, right?!).
I am keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!!0 -
Ok, I am going nuts today! It's my last day in the office before going down to Glasgow for the weekend, and definitely getting my proposal on Saturday. Apparently his mum has also guessed what is going on (I suppose we very rarely go down to Glasgow, and never for such a long weekend), and he is now trying to convince my mum not to go away in their caravan early on Sunday, without actually telling her why. My dad knows as he was asked 2 weeks ago, and is meant to be keeping my mum under control...
So excited, I have done next to no work this week, and can barely sit still...hopefully the next time I post on this thread it will be with a pictureSaving for wedding 25 August 2013£1,090/£6,000Wedding Diet7lbs lost , 33lbs to go0 -

I have been reading this thread for ages but decided it was time to actually join at last. I've been with my bf for just over 4 months now but we both know we will get married at some point- it's a second for both of us, we're both older and wiser and have learned form our mistakes. We are so well matched and both know we want to spend the rest of our lives together. We've talked about marraige for a while now, and he keeps saying things like 'when we are married', 'until we are married', 'our wedding' etc. He's said he thinks the man should choose the ring and has been thinking about how and when to propose as he's a romantic and wants it to be nice.
I feel like I'm going out of my mind waiting! I've been secretly reading wedding magazines and dreaming about dresses, receptions etc even though to me the wedding itself is a minor part of marriage. I'm someone that is used to being a leader and planning, organising and controlling situations etc and being unable to influence or affect the timing in any way. I've even considered proposing myself, although I know my bf thinks that that should be his role, not mine.
Here's to lots of nice, romantic proposals very soon for us all!Halifax Credit Card: [STRIKE]£4915[/STRIKE] NEXT Directory: [STRIKE]£1980[/STRIKE]JD Williams: [STRIKE]£1984[/STRIKE] British Gas: [STRIKE]£394[/STRIKE] First Direct [STRIKE]£2985[/STRIKE]Debt-free for over 2 years now!!! :j0 -

rdchick, I have been hyper all afternoon, practically bouncing up and down in my chair and being surprisingly productive.
