Ow that's harsh!
I was with my OH 6 years before he proposed. He was waiting until he thought it was a good time. From yr 5 I was getting a bit impatient, but it happened when he wanted it too.:T0 -

Squirrel, I was thinking about you at the weekend and wondered whether you were still thinking of NYC! Those few months are going to fly by, how exciting

Back from Malta - still not engaged. Not that I expected it to happen if I'm honest, for various reasons, but it would have been nice. There were a few moments where I thought he was going to do it, because he got very lost in thought a few times and I thought he was worrying about something, but if he was (and he said he wasn't) then that appears to not have been it..."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

Sorry to read that MW, I hope you still managed to have a great holiday anyway, was the weather kind to you?
Do you think he *may* have been thinking about it but couldn't quite do it?

I honestly don't know. I don't think he realised how much of a big deal it was to me until recently, when we had a big talk about it and he basically said he didn't want to rush into it, but then he's not normally a 'spacey' person which is what made me suspicious in the first place. My best guess is that he was waiting for that 'perfect' moment and it never came - there were a few times where it could have happened but for whatever reason it didn't work out (and some of those were probably my fault!).
It was a really nice holiday though, if one of those times when I wished one of us could drive as whilst there were buses there was a lot of having to go back in and out of the capital city which kind of ate into the day. The weather was really good too - it was sunny pretty much every day, and nice and warm but not so hot that we couldn't do anything."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
