Oh my god, I still cant believe it's real....
We went to the National Trust open weekend to a beautiful castle just over the border in Wales and when we were in a lovely pagoda in the gardens - with absolutely noone around - he got on one knee and asked!!! Amazing!!
And the ring was my favourite ring from the ones we looked at!!! And it fits perfectly!!!
We've just been out for a lovely late lunch in a gorgeous local restaurant too - what a fab day!!!!
I am so excited - have only told my mum and dad so far but thought you ladies had to be next on my list of people to tell!! Once I've got through all my texts and phonecalls, I'll post a pic of the ring!!!!!
Here's hoping you all have a day like this soon!!!!!!!!! :T:T
OMG squ1rrel5 I am seriously so very happy for you. You have the absolute patience of a Saint and many a person would have gone insane in your shoes. I keep coming back to this site whenever I get emails you or JTR have posted.
I'm actually smiling and really really happy for you and I don't know you in RL, your family and friends will be absolutely delighted.
Once everyone has been told, be sure to update us fully! So he had the ring? did you have any inclination he was going to? did you know today was 'the' day? did you cry? did he cry? photo of the ring!!!!!!
Huge huge hugs.

Hi everyone
OH started the day by saying I could do exactly what.I wanted today, bit of a long standing thing, I am just naturally happy to go along with whatever anyone else want to do, very rarely makes group decisions so very rarely get to do what I want to do, so I cheekly replied I wanna get engaged, I said let's just do it, no romance just to it. He replied that when he does it he wants it to be special and romantic though. So suggested we look at rings instead.
After looking in every jewellers we found 2 perfect ringsvery different in price but I actually prefer the cheaper one, but in that shop I saw how scared he is and I don't think it is the money, he looked like a little boy, and I genuinely think he is terrified of getting married again, I am pretty sure it is not personal and I could see he wanted to do it because he wanted to make me happy. I just said oh well you know what I like now and what looks nice when you are ready to propose and we left. He did buy me a hoodie tho haha.
So that is my ups and downs.of yesterday, maybe getting married again is never going to happen for me and altho I am still desperate for it to happen and a bit tearful I am actually ok about it. I really want/need to lose a stone so I am going to concentrate on that xxx0 -
Ahh Ally, I hope he comes round.... to be honest though it's a good mindset to get into if you have something else to think about it...then he might surprise you one day!!!
I will still be joining in with this thread and keeping my fingers crossed for you all - I promise I will never become a smug engaged/married person!!!
In answer to 74jax, the proposal was lovely, better than I imagined. He didnt cry but did get a bit tongue tied getting his words out.... he gave such a lovely speech about why he wanted to marry me and I just couldnt help crying!! It was perfect!!
Oh and here is a pic of the ring....0 -
