I disagree; I think it is swinging. From low branches.:rotfl:I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0

I appreciate it may seem trivial to you but they were my close friends for many years then the friendship suddenly ended & these odd things happened and I do think about it and try to make sense of it all.0 -
can I just clarify - betty is aka rita and yourself sue?!0

Not sure really why your asking this a year after you last had contact with Bob and Betty?
Anyway, if it was me..
I would have probably gone quite cold with Bob, and distanced myself from Betty (just because she was involved with Bob, and therefore the situation) after the 1st uncomfortable situation - when Bob turned up to take you out for a meal. I would have responded to the 1st email telling him it was inappropriate and after that I would have ignored the emails. I wouldn't have answered the phone when he got in touch in Paris and I'd have turned him away when he turned up at the door.
I would NOT have allowed him to wash my feet when staying at Bettys, and I'd have been so abrupt about the whole situation that Bob would have felt uncomfortable and probably left!
I might sound harsh but thats the way I am with things I'm not comfortable with. Nothing wrong with what Bob or Betty it's just not a situation I'd want, or choose to have, in my life.
Really, you have to decide what you want from the situation, do you want Bob and Betty in your life? How much contact do you want with them? ect0 -
@ the other poster I understand some people are polyamorous or whatever but it has always been clear I am not and @ the time I was in a relationship so I do not understand why 'friends' would act this way.
because sexual preferences change over time; because people change their minds; because they were into hugging and nothing else and thought it was ok - many reasons, none of them sinister. You didn't want it - they left you alone. Is all good.Debt free 4th April 2007.

Didn't read 2nd page of thread before replying, so ignore the 1st question in my post..That's right.
I also just wanted to know what people thought in general about
1. the being taken to a nice dinner randomly like that
2. Turning up in another country without warning
3. The footwashing & saying I could stay over and ending up 3 in a bed.
whether that's normal bevahiour or if I am being too uptight or what.
To the poster who asked what my husband thinks - I am no longer in a relationship with the person I was with at the time all this happened - when I told my current fiance he thought they were nutters who want me to be a 'sister wife':rotfl:
1. I think it was a very nice gesture.
2. I would have been extremely uncomfortable with this, and think it is inappropriate behaviour whatever the reasons - you already had plans ect, so he was kind of intruding.
3. No way would I have allowed that to happen! But it's all about how you feel, if you were comfortable with it then there is no problems
And yes, (imho) there was definetly secual motives behind all Bob's actions, and quite probably Betty's too.0 -
I said I would sleep head to feet.make_me_wise wrote: »:rotfl:
Thats not swinging.
Think that they may have been grooming you for a threesome :kisses:
Looks like they changed their minds as nothing happened when you shared a bed
It might have been the smell of your feet and that's why Bob wanted to wash them like Jesus.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
I'm guessing they were angling for a threesome, but after you insisted on sleeping top to toe and told Betty you found their behaviour weird they gave up on it. Bob sounds like a bit of a creepy guy to me!0
