Quidco Question and Answers

MrX said:Getting really fed up with Quidco now. 2 claims for over £50 declined in the last month for the reason of "Sometimes cashback isnt paid" Not even a reason why it wasnt paid - becuase there isnt a valid reason! eg I used a voucher (I didnt) I didnt pay full price (I did) the item was excluded (it wasnt) or any other excuse. Just that the retailer doesnt want to pay. How is this right and fair?Retailers in question are Ernest Jones and Wealthify by Aviva. And no longer have the comments available on Quidco either so you can warn people. I smell a rat. I know all of these supposed cashback sites are 'buyer beware' but the retailers are profitting nicely and then not paying when they are supposed to and not being held accountable nor have to explain themselves.Official Company Representative

The problem is that the retailer has no obligation to pay even when presented with all the evidence to show that the customer has met all of the T&Cs. So the retailer has gained a sale they might not have otherwise. Its a great business model, advertise a discount (cashback) but dont pay it and neither customer not Quidco can do anything about it. They should be struck off Quidco when examples such as mine are proven. As for emailing support (again) I have done that twice already and been ignored. And also opened the new chat window which shows as over 19 hours since raised and still unread. So is emailing yet again really going to change anything other than waste my time?

Hi - I have just emailed as to rub more salt into the wound you've just told me another one will not be paid. This time from Suit Direct and again no reason is given.

Hi Joe. The email must have reached the address correctly as I received a reply from Jamie earlier which said...So I did take a little look further and sadly you are right in regards to that reason
but I can confirm you have received a goodwill gesture for this as a apology, this confirms nothing would be able to be done further for either, I am extremely sorry! I can offer a 1% gesture of goodwill for the Suit Direct claim but other than that I can only apologise!
So as I stated originally, the retailers just say they arent paying or T&Cs aren't met. But cannot say which T&Cs are met. That is just plainly wrong. Jamie also mentions the goodwill gesture of 1% (much lower than what was meant to be paid from the retailer but I suppose better then nothing when you feel like you're being made a fool of). Whilst I did see that added for the Earnest Jones purchase, nothing has been added for the other 2.Regards

We can get the 1% applied for you for those as promised, please could you drop a message back on Jamie's email and we can get this sorted 😊 -Joe (Socialsupport@quidco.com)Official Company Representative

The $1million question though is WHY are they not obliged to explain what T&Cs werent met? It turns Quidco into little more than a game of roulette. If you're lucky, and usually if the win is small, you'll get paid out. But it's very unlikley that you'll ever get the big prize. If it really is of no benefit to Quidco when they dont pay out when all the evidence says they should, then why do you allow retailers to get away with it and ultimately benefit at your expense? Why?1
